Question about Video Game Consoles & Games
Just as the console says, the disc is unreadable. This could be as a result of a scratched surface or a faulty lens. Also, if your DVD drive is region protected, you might be trying to play a disc that is not designated to work for the region of your DVD drive.
First of all, you have to use a soft lint less material to wipe the surface of your disc clean. Do this carefully as doing it wrongly may cause further damage to the disc. Also, if you have changed the position of your console(vertical to horizontal or vice-versa) while this disc was playing, I am sorry but the disc is gone and there is absolutely nothing that can be done to it. This is applicable to the older versions of the console.
Also, you can try to load other dsics to see if the problem is coming from your lens and if it does the same thing, then you can try to get a lens cleaner disc and clean the lens of your console or replace it if the need arises.
Lastly, some of the disc drives that comes with the console are not designed to work with all kinds of disc. Maybe your is just having the same issue. Try going through your manual to see what region code disc your console is designed to work with.

Make sure your box is not blowing really hot air and nothing is right behind it blocking it. I get disc read errors when its hot. Turn it off for a few minutes and let it cool down. Consider the xbox360 fan add on. From what your saying as long as it is not consistant it is just being TEMPramental . ALWAYS turn it off when your not using and be real nice to it. If the problem is consistant go back to solution 1 as a new or fixed xbox is better than one that may be running into problems.

If you are sure the CD works on other consoles, and if you are sure there is no dirt or dust in your console (please do not try opening it, that would only damage it), then you can always call the support. If they do not know this, and it is as new as you just stated, then I am sure you can use your warranty to get a new xbox, so the company can look for the problem. (you can use the warranty on two ways: the easiest way is going back to the shop you bought it in, they would send it to the company to you and would directly give you a new console. The second way is to directly sending it back to the company (with warranty/note? not sure about that, but I'm sure you can find it on their site or from their support) and demanding a new one. Of course this is free of all costs, but the fastest way is the first way of course (also free).
I have no idea where I could have pressed my enter key, so I'm sorry for the long text. ^^
