Question about Refrigerators

1 Answer

Hi, I bought a Samsung RSH1NBRS fridge/freezer (stainless steel/?colour). Unfortunately, it has lots of deep scratch marks during its transport in a van. How can I reduce/remove these? Perhaps any form of colour?

Depending on the quality of stainless steel some professional metal workers can buff it but I would recommend against trying it yourself.

I have a whirlpool refrigerator, model GR9FHMXPQ. I got it about 4 years ago. When it was delivered, it had several pieces of styrofoam lodged in the inside ceiling of the fridge section (below the freezer...

You need to remove all of the styrofoam packing material.
Any insulation material would be installed inside the body of the fridge/freezer. The packing material is there so anything inside the compartment (like metal shelves, plastic holders, etc. don't bounce around during shipping and either scratch up the interior, or break. That is all that it is there for.

My houselady cleaned my fridge today with a stainless steel cleaner and now it looks like there is a blue residue on my fridge that will not come off. Is it ruined?

I am not exactly sure how to remedy your specific issue but I know of a site that sells decorative covers for your appliances. Check them out at www.applianceart.com These guys have covers for all occasions and even stainless steel. Hope this helps.

SCRATCHED STAINLESS STEEL SINK

Have you tried a really fine steel wool? I don't know if this would work. I have stainless steel farmhouse sink, front exposed all stainless steel. My contractor scratched it up horribly when he was putting it into the kichen. he fixed it amazingly with a fine steel wool pad. I don't know if your scratch is too deep for that but it couldn't hurt. The scratches on our sink were surface but very noticeable. Hope this helps.
