Pluggin headphones into my behringer 2442fx mixer is creating a lot of static coming out of the headphones.

This happens when you have lose earth connection from your main source power supply. Check the earth connections (grounding) which should be available in the mixer, i.e some power cords don;t have earth wire, so change this if you think yours don't have it. Also check the grounding of the other items attached to your mixer, basically grounding is very important to reduce the static shorts. Try changing the power supply source, change to other outlet and check if it is OK.

My Mackie1604VLZ is always cutting out every so often while playing live, audio just quit but power still on ???on every chanels no audio comin out just little bit of tiny distorted sounds ,thats all you...

You can do a major amount of troubleshooting using tests from the many jacks on this unit.
I can walk you through a lot of those if you keep getting back to me with the results. First test: When the failure occurs does one or both sides of the headphones plugged in the headphone jack ALSO quit? Also does the level meter LED's reflect loss of signal? If these are still OK I want you to plug the headphones into the MAIN MIX MONO OUT jack. The headphone signal won't be very strong, but is it OK and not distorted.

I hope you have remembered to use BALANCED (TRS) audio interconnect cables and not plain mono cables from your mixer to the amps. Use of mono cables shorts out one side of the balanced output driving amps in the mixer. Also the other send of these MUST connect to balanced amplifier inputs... NOTE some amps don't have this and you have to use a BALUN or a DI at that end.

Lastly, ALL inteconnected equipment MUST be powered from the same source or receptacle for system safety.

Feel free to contact me via email or whatever.

My headphones wont work with my roland keyboard

Without knowing what brand headphones you have it is hard to know what to advise... HOWEVER if your headphones have a small plug (1/8 inch) you must use a STEREO type 1/8 to 1/4 inch adapter. If you use a mono, that will short out the output of at least one side.

Do I need to buy a seperate headphone jack adapter in order to put my headphones in? The headphone jack seems too small. If so what should I buy?

What type of headphone connector do you have? The Yamaha keyboard headphone jack is a 3.5 mm stereo jack (like on a computer headphone jack). So if the headphones have a 1/4" plug, you need a 1/4" to 3.5 mm adapter.

I hope this helps.

I have a casio keyboard and if i plug headphones into the audio hole they dont work it just plays out loud. help.

It is important that your headphones are STEREO tyoe as a monaural 1/4 inch plug will short out one side of the output audio.

Make sure the plug is fully seated as it has a switch in the unit that disconnects the speakers typically when headphones are plugged in.

If your speakers do not get cut off when you plug in the headphones, it is POSSIBLLE that the switches on the jack have been broken. This would require servicing.

Make sure the "ground lift" option is used on the direct box.

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES use a headphone output jack as the output of this unit. The headphone jack is for HEADPHONES that have no return to ground. Use of this as drive to a sound board is sure to cause problems and in some cases can fry these amps due to the circuitry.

The cable used to go to the direct box should be very short and high quality.

You should source the power for this unit from the SAME source and receptacle as your sound board if at all possible.
