Question about Agilent E3632A 120-Watt Power Supply

Open Question

Hi, I have a power supply, Agilent E3632A, which sometimes gets the "unreg" anunciator on and I can't control the voltage. If I increase or decrease the voltage, suddenly the power supply works. This happens with load and without it.

Carlsbro Bass Reactor 400 bass amp - power section dead

• Could be drive transistor , output transistor or both on the main amp.

But check for power supply and in the preamps also.

• A signal tracer will come in handy when troubleshooting these kind

of symptoms.

• Measure supply voltages,

• Check offset voltage

• Check idling current

Isolate , and trace afterwards.

• Schematic is really needed when there are burnt and unrecognizable

component. But one can use similar schematics to analyze circuit

problem.

MY PC SHUT DOWN NOT WORKING

Try to check the power supply, if the fan rotates as you turn it on, the try to open it and look for the motherboard capacitors there maybe some leaks on it. but if you have a spare or extra power supply try to change it. maybe you power supply brokes.

Controler and sub woofer no power

This previous diagnostic, isn't good, if you test and no continuity between the positive and negative terminals generally means a blown sub.

You won't always get scratching or distortion from a blown sub. Sometimes the voice coil just overheats and burns out like a fuse. In this case there will be no sound at all from the sub, because no power can flow through the voice coil. A continuity test between the positive and negative terminals will show no connection.

Hope this helps.

Hi I have a Sony Bravia KLV-40S200A which wont turn on. The standby button flashes five times then pauses for about 4 seconds then flashes again. Any ideas?

Diagnostic Test Indicators

When an error occurs, the POWER LED will flash a set number of times to indicate the possible cause of the problem. If there is more than one error, the LED will identify the first of the problem areas. If the errors occur simultaneously, the one that corresponds to the fewest flashes is identified first.

LED ERROR DESCRIPTION CODE

Hi GlennMayer1

The high pitched noise you here is the switchmode electronic type power supply/control electronics malfunctioning. This could be caused by component failure in the power supply or a short circuit in the wiring preventing it from firing up correctly. Hard wiring a lamp directly to the power supply would allow you to check the system, but a replacement power supply is probably required.
