Question about Video Game Consoles
I bought a used game from EB - no instruction book. When I played a game recently I saved it - I thought. Commencing the next day I went to reload the saved game. There was none.
I have tried two ways of playing with no success of saving.
The opening screens are:
Autosave slot seleted Auto will now proceed using game 1. Do not removememory card (PS2) in memory card slot 1. Reset or switch off console when autosave indicator (below)is on.
Or I save at the start in SAve Game 1
There is a warning only overall game progress is saved.
If I save it says Save Failed
Autosave is disabled to enable autosave save or load any game.
I have progressed a long way in this game trying both ways of saving - with no luck.
it's either your ps2 or your memorycard.. my suggestion is to buy another memory card, and if the problem reveals unsolved by doing that, you shold call the manufacturer about the problem, because then it is the console itself which is the problem..

SOURCE: when I try to save
Try to clean the memory slot with isopropyle alcohol. Use a ear cleaning swab and dip it into isopropyl alcohol which is easily available in the market and try to clean the metallic contacts and it should work but make sure you turn off the device while you do so.Remove the cards and blow air with air blower in the slot. Then insert card and check.----------
Assuming you've got the right cards for your system, there are two tests you need to perform:
1. Borrow a memory card from a friend and try saving files to it and then reading them. If this does not work, your PS2 is probably broken and you'll need to get it fixed.
2. If other memory cards work in your system, go over to a friend's house and test your memory card in their system. If this does not work, you know that your memory card is busted and needs to be replaced.
-------------- Also its possible,m that there is loose connection, inside slot one and slot two. This are plug in/plug out connectors. That are inside the unit. You need to open and check this connectors, they then to get loose by time.Or burnt. So check and confirm, that.--------- This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.
