Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Yes this is the red light or YLOD you need to stop the heat build up in order to play your games, use a good guide or send it in and get it fixed.

When i turn on my ps3 the light on the front goes green white red

Send it in for service at a Sony playstation service center.
It is possible you have a hard drive problem, but you will basically need to buy a hard drive and install it to find out.

My playstation 3 wont turn on. the red light on

PS3 owners refer to this as the 'Yellow Light of Death' or 'YLOD'. It's quite common. The problem is caused by poor solder joints (due to overheating) on the motherboard and degrading heat sink compound on the fan.

60gb ps3 wont start up.

Possibly the very common mother board failure. Slight possibility that the power supply is failed, but the capacitors in either component can be tested with capacitor tester and service manual to test for the faulty component.
