Sesontcket,

For the cost of remotes it is not worth trying to fix them. You can get an exact replacement remote at http://remotes.com/ or probably for less a universal remote at any Walmart or Target for less than $10.00. The All-In-One brand seems to have the most features and is the most reliable.

Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating.

Power light flashes.

The dm board is located inside the vertical metal case on the left side when viewing the tv2.gif from the back side.

Have you tried disconnecting the front panel on the tv? There are 2 plugs that go into the board and sometimes there is a faulty switch on there which causes your problem.

WS-55511 55in volume turns up by itself & can't switch devices

The remote is not the problem. The switch for volume up on the control panel has become leaky. Very common problem for this generation Mitsubishi. If you don't mind not having the control panel working you can disconnect it and the set will work just fine with the remote. To disconnect the control panel pull the speaker grill, it just snaps off, and remove the front access panel. Once that is done you'll see a cable going to the switches just disconnect it.

No control of WS-65511

The following solution has been posted in another forum (www.hometheaterspot.com) and it fixed my remote problem:

"...it's possible that one of the front panel buttons is "stuck" or shorted, and this could cause the TV to ignore commands from the front panel or remote. But this should also cause the Power command to be ignored, too. You might try pulling off the front panel and disconnecting the front panel buttons and then see if the remote works."

Will not power on. Please Help!!

Error code 12 means normal operation. On these models we have found that a switch is sticking on the control panel not allowing the set to turn on. Disconnect the control panel. You will be able to use the remote on it. To find the plugs for the control panel: Remove the speaker grill and front panel, then follow the wire to the connection. Remember to unplug the set before putting your hands inside of it. Tell me how it went. Lead Tech
