Question about JVC AM FM CD DET FACE CAR STEREO

1 Answer

I hooked up a JVC stero in my 1991 Nissan truck. Now the memory is wiped out for the radio + factory clock when I turn off the car. The radio will come back on, but no presets works.

Chances are that you do not have the constant 12 volt power of the vehicle connected to the memory wire of the stereo. The yellow memory wire of the stereo should be connected to the vehicles' battery. The red accessory wire of the stereo should connected to a switched 12 volt power source.

Fix keep alive memory 1991 olds

If your asking about the radio channels and radio clock, there is a wire that is always hot that has to be connected to the radio's always alive wire. If it is not hooked to the wire that is always hot, (like hooked to an ignition wire) then it will not be hot and every time the ignition is turned off, you will lose the clock time and channels memory. If you have a test light, check the wires at the radio (with the key off) and see which one is hot. If none are hot, then you have a blown fuse or wire broken.

You have not hooked up the wireing right as clock and memory has to be hooked to live all time wire not a switched circuit

How can i replace 1991 maxima radio system?

The original radio is a BOSE system and it has a buit in amp. So if you replaced the deck you need to replace the speakers all so. Don't cut the wires to hook-up the deck buy an addapter KIT. It's not just the stereo that runs though that harness the factory alarm does all so and that will cause you problems. Anyway back to the stereo you need to add an amplifier and problem sovled.

Where do you connect the memory wire on a jvc kd g110 car stero.....what color is the memory wire ?? what does hook red wire to acc fuse mean??? what wire does the red wire on the radio connect to on...

The yellow wire is most likely the memory wire as it needs to be connected to a constant 12 volt source.

"Hook red wire to to acc fuse" means you need to hook into the fuse block under an Accessory Fuse. (ie: something that can't be turned on unless the car is running or the key is in the "Accessory" position)

The red wire is explained above. It does not connect to the harness.

Just remember that the yellow wire needs to be hooked to a constant 12 volts and the red needs to be hooked to a circuit that is only active when the car is running or switched to the "ACC" position.

Radio resets when car is turned off

There is a yellow wire in the harness coming out of the head unit, this should be connected to a constant power. This circut maintains power to the head unit for the clock and memory.
The red wire should be connected to a source that is turned on and off with the key switch.

DVD player re-sets with ignition

either bad ground at headunit or you don't have tha yellow 12+ constant wire on the jvc hooked to an actual 12+ source maybe it is not a source that is capable of the amount of current that jvc needs

red = ignition controlled live
yellow = permanent live

if you want stations saved and manual switch off of uni connect radio's yelow and red wires to the cars yellow.

if you want stations saved and radiounit switch off controlled by ignition (i.e only when car is running) then yellow to yellow and red to red. anything else will cause issues...

Do the jvs have a memory wire. I tryin to put this in a 2001 nissan altima. I need to know if the car have a memory wire for this redio.

You need to hook up the yellow wire from JVC to the yellow/green wire in car(12+ constant memory) and the red wire from JVC to purple from car(switched 12+ volt accessory)

Hope this gets you tuned in!
