When you burn a CD, set the burning speed to x1

Hello,
Most cases this is caused by poor quality disks and / or burning data too fast to the media. Try burning a CD at half speed. This drive is capable of 40x, try 24x. If your hard drive is slow, or the files you are burning are on a network, you may be experiencing buffer under-run. Burning at 24x will drop the data rate to about 3mb/s which most any PC should be able to handle. Try a prominent brand of CD-R's like Sony.
Another thing you could do is try another burning program. I'm not sure what you use, but I really like Nero Burning Rom. You can download a 30 day trial.
Regards, Chris

I have a Pioneer DVD RW DVR 107D I cannot get it to burn CD's I am looking for any fixes that may help me. It acts like it is burning and then after 1 track it finalizes and kicks out the recorde

Hello
Trying cleaning the lense with a DVD cleaning kit ,if that does not solve it then it will have to be replaced as this is a problem with the laser.
Some failing drives read but cannot burn others only read CDs and not DVDs and also burn to CD but no longer can burn to DVD and vice versa this is a common drive failure.

PIONEER BURNER BURNING BUT DISC EMPTY SAYS DISC FINISHED BURNING BUT WHEN TRYING TO PLAY SAYS DISC EMPTY AND I CANNOT USE IT AGAIN

What OS and disc brand and type are you using? Try a different brand; some disc manufacturers seem to make more "coasters" than others. If you are not using RW(rewritable) discs, make sure to cancel the autoplay "Format disc" option for blank discs in most Windows OS versions. I chose to turn off autoplay.

I hope this helps.

(Yes I made a few coasters. So far I've found that Verbatim DVD +R DL discs are good. CDs are fine with most brands. However, other reviewers say that the plant where the optical discs were made matters.)

My Pioneer 212d DVR read cd not dvd.

have you tried other dvd's? maybe the brand you are using is bad. if you get a cheap brand of dvd's like off brand then yout tend to get coasters. and tend to get more of them the cheaper they are.

Yes, there is something to do with operating system because most likely it only works for 32Bit OS only.

Can't burn from jvc everio hard disk cam to the share station

The Everio only accepts DVD-R discs, and the cheaper, the better. I burned a lot of coasters for my cats to chase when I tried using the 'name brand' discs. I buy cheap off-brand discs and have no problems.

EXTERNAL DVD PROBLEMS

I think the problem, if its a video dvd you are burning is the read in read out that it cannot finish, so thats either a corrupt video file that cannot be read, as burning is the last thing a writer does after caching the image or you need to try a different brand of dvd. A tip is also try to burn at a slower speed as sometimes a faster speed results in more dvd glass coasters.

My pioneer dvd does no longer read dvd but play and burns cd and vcd well

Give this a try, if no change, the dvd rom may have to be replaced:- Try My computer>properties>devicemanager>hardware tab, then click on the '+' sign on the DVD/CDROM drives line. Right click your DVD then click uninstall. Restart your pc and let Windows find it again, see if it sorts itself out. If it's getting on a bit try a lens cleaner also.
