Question about HP Photosmart C3180 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

M:y printer keeps spewing out either blank pages or blank pages with a band of blue across the top of the page. It won't print material from my Open Office notes. This is a recent problem. How can I correct it? I have tried using "cancel"-- no luck -- and have also turned the printer off and restarted it -- no luck. Your help will be much appreciated.

You may have to shut down the printer completely, including disconnection of power. When you reapply power, the printer should be indicating it is offline so you will have to put it online again.

X2250 won't print form pc

A technique to improve print quality is to try and clean the cartridge nozzles. You may clean the cartridge by following the steps given below:
1. Go to the "Lexmark solution center." This can be done by clicking on "Start," go to "Programs" and Lexmark printer group. Click on the "Lexmark Solution center." Next click on the "Maintenance" Tab.
2. Select "Clean and Fix Horizontal streaks." Click on "Print". This will produce a printed page.
The colors that you should see here are black, yellow, magenta (a reddish purple) and cyan (a dark sky blue). You should notice the diagonal lines above and below the solid horizontal lines. These diagonal lines should be solid from left to right with no gaps.
If there are gaps in the lines or the print diminishes across the page, you should run the "Clean Print Nozzle" page a couple more times to try and clear it up. If you still have gaps at the top and bottom, you should "wick" the cartridges by following the steps given below:
1. Please open the "Solution center" again and go to the "Maintenance" Tab.
2. Select "Install color/black cartridge" and remove the cartridge or cartridges from the printer.
3. Get a damp paper towel.
4. Set the ink cartridge right side up on the damp paper towel so that the ink nozzles are against the towel and hold the cartridge in this position for about 15 seconds.
5. Now wipe the print head (on the bottom where the ink comes out) across in one direction only (left to right) until it looks clean.
6. Next dab the cartridge on the towel to make sure that the ink is flowing.
7. Snap the cartridges back into the printer.
8. On your computer, select "Old Cartridge install."
9. Repeat the "Clean Nozzle Page" one more time. If this fails to address the problem the entire procedure may need repeating.

Good Luck!!!!

I cannot print full page

I'm sorry, but I cannot help you without more details. I need to know the make and model number of the printer, the operating system of your computer and whether the problem happens in any program, or just one. If you get the same result when you have the printer run a test page (using the printer controls, not the computer), then you don't have tell me anything about the computer because that isn't the problem.
I also need to know what is missing from the printout. Is it all the material on one side of the page, or a band across the page? Is it blank lines running through the words and pictures? Please describe it as well as you can.

Every time i print something I get TWO pages.. One what i Printed The Other ONe Plan Paper..So Every time i print i have to Remove the blank pages...lots of work as i run an office..HELP

It seems you have a problem with your printer's page and document settings.
To correct this problem run the Preferences application and change the default settings.
Select the Printer button.
In the next window, select the 'Change Defaults..' button.
Change both the Document size and the Paper size to a height of 10.875 and click OK.

Try a new document to see if the paper size is correct.
You may need to go back and change the height a few times until it is correct (the height changes in .125 increments).
Usually either 10.875 (for 1/4 inch forced top margin printers) or 10.75 ( for 1/2 inch forced top margin printers) will work.

Good Luck
