I will first try to restore the system first to the point when you had no such problems.
Then, run anti virus program like kaspersky. (Some programs catche virus or spyware well but don't fix well.)

If your problem stays same, there are two possible problems. (hightly possible first)

1) Motherboard Problem. (If your notebook were shut down due to any electric shock like sudden power down)
2) Power Problem. (Short power) - example bad battery

I hope it helps.

Hp nx6110 laptop is power lock what is unlockng process

Disconnected the RTC battery will unlock your system. See the steps below.

The more important it is to protect on's data by a DriveLock (which makes the HDD usuable when the password is not available).

Procedure to remove password
(following CPQ MSGs)

1.) Unplug AC, take out the main battery.

2.) Take out /disconnect the RTC (real time clock) battery for app. Half an hour (the period of 5 min as specified in the MSG normally is not long enough).

3.) Plug in the AC adapter (batteries still removed); computer should boot automatically, if not use the power button.

4.) The machine will boot and show the 162-error-msg "system options not set". Use F1 to save the settings.

5.) Shut down the computer and disconnect AC power again.
6.) Re-connect the RTC-battery.
7.) Install the battery pack(s).
8.) Restart the computer.

Warning: All settings are set back to factory standard.
You'll have to enter a correct date/time and change the settings to your needs.

Note: Pls strictly keep to the sequence.
Re-starting with the main battery and or RTC-battery inserted will spoil the job.

System disk or disc error

Seems that your notebook's hard disk either failed or system files are corrupt. Try re-installing the operating system. If this does not fix the problem, consider replacing your hard drive.

Low disk space Error. I have deleted everthing I can and still get thie message, all I want to do is restore it to the factory settings

Do a search on Google for the drivers for your HP Compaq nx6110 PC Notebook. Make sure you have a copy of the 25 digit serial number of your computer handy. Do not do the next few steps unless you have this number. You will need it to reinstall the software to your computer.

Once you have all the drivers (Audio, Video, etc.,) for your HP Compaq nx6110 PC Notebook, you will need an OEM Disk, with Windows XP, Vista or other Operating System on it. Insert the CD in your drive and restart your computer.

Follow the directions that will appear on your screen, as it turns on. Do not let it get past the part where a flashing underscore (upper left-hand screen) goes by, before pressing your space button. You may press any button, but the space bar works great too. You will be given a set of choices to choose from, wether you want to completely reinstall the Operating System, completely Formatting your hard drive, or whether you want to only fix errors. Follow the directions carefully and within 30 minutes to 3 hours, you will have successfully reinstalled the software to your computer.

After powering on the following message appears: Non-system disk or disk error replace and trike any key when ready. Trying to press F10 or F9 when powering on doesn not give any result. Does it mean that...

First, check if you have any usb memory keys or other removable media in your system. That error used to show up when you'd leave a non-bootable floppy in your pc. If you don't have anything in your system other than your hard drive- listen. If you are hearing clicking, grinding noises- then yes, your hard drive has mechanically failed. If you don't- then the chances the drive is about to fail since the boot sector was corrupted. Try to make certain the drive is seated correctly in your system- if that doesn't help- you will need to contact the technical support for your system to get a replacement hard drive if your system is in warranty- or you can purchase one, and replace it yourself.

Hp nx6110 laptop error power surge on hub port

OK if you have anything plugged into the USB Ports at bootup, unless Keyboard or Mouse, remove everything, and see if it boots normally, if it does, then the "Hub" you are using may be faulty, or a device you are using is drawing a lot of current at switch on and overloading the USB bus, that can only supply 500mA. If it still does it, and you do use a USB KB & Mouse, then remove them one at a time & reboot, between, and see if it was one of them causing the problem. If you have nothing attached then your internal USB bus is flaky.
