My pc is hanging and when restart dont show disply and beeping ecs geforce 6100sm-m2

the beeps are post during post the very first work is done by the ram,all the memory in the ram is first transferred to the hard disk, and remains active untill turned off.

make sure that your RAM and Cmos battery are securely seated

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty

if faulty can affect your picture screen

a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and to have and end to function
the beeps are post pre operating system searching for some hardware it could be RAM cd/dvd hard drive or motherboard all of these must have secure connections for the computer to work
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure make sure the connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs all electric current and computer data to travel to and through every working device and have an end to work properly click start right click on my computer so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error
if you need more help with this post a reply
hope this helps you

Can i plug a IDE dvd-r & SATA drive together? my new pc wont recognize the hard drive

The IDE DVD and the SATA hard drive can be installed together in the desktop computer, BUT not on the same data cable, they have different types of data cables and disk controllers.
You need an IDE disk controller and a SATA disk controller, the late model motherboards have both types of controllers on the motherboard.

Ecs 6100sm-m mobo connections

you have a few options

1) buy a sata harddrive (faster then ide), use the ide for the second harddrive (backup) and cd/dvd rom

2) buy a sata cd/dvd rom use the ide on both harddrives (1 set to slave)

3) depends on your budget, buy a sata drive + sata cd/dvd rom so your main drive is on sata (faster than ide) then you only have your second drive as your backup drive on ide.

i had the same problem when i rebuilt mine, i went for the seperate harddrive and cd/dvd rom and my 320 gb ide as my backup drive

sorry to jump on this post aswell, see what others think

Strating up problem

Please update MB with the latest bios version:
http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Products/ProductsDetail.aspx?detailid=685&DetailName=Bios&MenuID=1&LanID=9
Flash from a floppy disk. Re check bios after flash. Go to Boot section. Make sure you have the correct drive listed in the boot order. If trouble still continues. Go to the serial ATA SATA hard drive's manufactures site. Download the tools/utilities & set the drive up with their bootable floppy disk software.
(Do this without the IDE connected to the system). Try installing windows. You shouldn't have a problem. (The bootable floppy can also test the drive).

Luck!
If problem returns, please include detailed results.
