Up load speed slow

First I would go to one of the websites below to do a true speed test on your internet connection. If in fact you are getting low connection speeds, then you may try contacting the service provider. Not sure where you got the upload speeds from.... Here is a list of some of the other issues that could cause low up/down load speeds.1. Other devices connected off of the modem. 2. High volume of traffic, usually during the evening hours when everyone is home from work.3. A application running in the background. (email, 20 webpages open, etc...)4. When in doubt blame the carrier. lol. 5. Google your model cable modem to see if others have had the same issue??6. Sometimes a firmware or update is available for network devices. You can check by going to the RCA website\Techsupport
Hope this helps, good luck.

Belkin Router G+MIMO is significantly slowing the Virgin broadband connection

You don't mention if you've tested the connection without the router, or whether you're using a wireless or wired connection. So I've tried to give you as much of the necessary information as possible, sorry it's so long and I hope I haven't rambled too much or been confusing.

Remember not to test using just one site, the wider the range of sites you use to test, the more useful your findings, up to a point. One or two large sites should be enough ie microsoft, ubuntu, etc and maybe a couple of sites that you use regularly.

Test the connection without the router, if it's much better, then you know it's definitely something with the router, if not then it's either a slow server(if it only happens with certain pages), virgin or your pc(running slow, viruses, faulty hardware etc). So make sure your pc is working properly, clean of viruses and spyware (including ie toolbars, and google software etc) and/or phone virgin.

If you're not sure if your pc is ok, see if you can borrow another and try it on your connection. Make sure the owner doesn't have a similar problem to yours.

To test yourself if it's likely to be virgins fault go to this and click on the "get it" button don't worry it's a safe download, but you can cancel the download after you've checked your speed anyway. Or you can download something from Microsoft if you prefer(there are other sites you could use for this, but you need to make sure it's definitely got the speed capability). Leave it downloading for a few minutes then write down the transfer speed you're getting and check against the list at the bottom. Make sure you don't do this during peak times (ie. 4-9pm etc), as it won't be accurate enough.

So if the connection improved without the router then test your router.
If you're using a wireless connection, then see if you can get better speed with a wired one.

If wired is faster then make sure the router is set to use wireless g and not just b, also try changing your channel number. It may just be that you're too far away from the router (either move the pc closer or get a range extender) or that there's too much in the way ie. metal, brick, concrete. Or that there's too much interference, ie. other peoples wireless (in which case change the channel number), cordless phones, microwaves, etc. (try to move them out of the way if possible)

If the speed on wireless and wired is about the same or not much better, and it's not down to virgin or your pc, then you'll need to make sure your settings are correct and in line with virgins. It may be a faulty router, but it's usually not the case.

Transfer speeds
eg 10kB/s, 1.1 MB/s

1024 kB/s = 1 MB/s

Right you know what line speed you're meant to be getting right? It'll either be 4Meg, 10Meg 20Meg or 50Meg. Now you've seen your transfer speed you're thinking that it's really slow, well this may be the case but it's not as easy as that, line speed and transfer speed are measured in different ways

line speed = kilobits or megabits per second = kb/s or Mb/s
transfer speed = kilobytes or megabytes per second = kB/s or MB/s

1 byte = 8 bits so if you have a 20meg (megabits) connection your maximum transfer speed is 20 divided by 8 which equals 2.5 MB/s or 2500 kB/s, that's the theory, in reality you'll never quite get that high, but you should at least have about 2MB/s+ (megabytes not megabits)

4meg = 500 kB/s
10meg = 1.25 MB/s or 1250 kB/s
20meg = 2.5 MB/s or 2500 kB/s
50meg = 6.25 MB/s or 6250 kB/s

But remember that is the theoretical maximum, and not taking overheads into account, you're likely to see slightly less, even at non-peak times and with large sites that have the infrastructure to provide hundreds of times the bandwidth of your connection.

Does anyone know how to change the default spin speed

LE usually means a loose connection to the stator assembly/hall sensor, or very well could be a bad hall sensor (RPM sensor). I would definitely, call for service if your getting this LE error.

You could remove your back panel, four screws, and check the connections, to your stator, this is behind the big metal wheel you see in front, called the rotor. The bottom of the stator, you'll see two plugs, make sure those are connected, ones for power to the stator, and the other is the power for the hall sensor. Make sure these are plugged in firmly.

Also, you can remove the top lid of your washing machine, two screws on the back of the lid, bottom part of the bracket that is there. Slide the lid back (sometimes firmly). Once removed, check the display control board, and make sure all those plugs are firmly connected too.

Slow downloading speed

Make sure that your port is open on your router to allow the connections. This setting is under the options in the software. You can follow this from the site to walk you through:

That will allow you to connect to more peers. Also, make sure you have more seeders in the swarm. Good luck!
