Question about Panasonic DMR-ES10 DVD Recorder
My DMR-ES10 has started making this revving/winding type noise.Sometimes it records for awhile with the noise then just stops.Occasionally the noise doesnt happen and its fine.It plays recorded discs okay with the noise but its just annoying.
It also wont format/finalise discs with the noise. Is it spinnig on the mat?
Turns out the rubber disc grip on the spindle simply needs to be cleaned (using an alcohol wipe). This is the part that holds the disc firm while it's spinning...the noise and failed disc reads comes from this rubber getting dirty and allowing the disc to slip. Total time to fix including disassembly was less than 15 minutes!
