My new pump leaks around seal plate

Leaking wet ends are a result of a bad shaft seal.Check to make sure it is installed properly or install a new shaft seal to prevent more leakage. If the motor runs and it will draw the leaking water into the motor and ruin your motor.Change the shaft seal as soon as you are able to prevent further motor problems.

Step10 pump

you can take the motor off it, but that's about it, there a sealed unit that take high pressure. so if the motor is bad you can buy a new motor OR if the pump is bad you can buy it. there is only 4 bolts that hold them together so its a easy fix If the parts are cheap. kinda

Put in new motor, but pump will not turn. a.j. smith motor, pentair ultra flow... installed new seals also

The most common reason is you left part of the old seal stuck on the impeller and the new seal is riding on top of the seal ring (black rubber) of the old and therefore is tom compacted and it binds up the pump. Double check you removed all the old seal parts.

If that's not it, with the impeller off, can you turn the motor shaft then?

My pump is making a loud screeching sound, do i need a new one or can i fix it? something in the impeller?

Just fixed two myself. One I caught early enough - not too much collateral damage. Both needed the mechanical seals on the pump replaced and both needed new impellers (damaged due to heat build up when seal went bad. Impeller cost at pool store is about $23-$28. Seal at pool store is about $10. Of course, both can be had cheaper online if you can wait for them to be shipped. Easy job really.

If yours has been running a while in this condition, you probably have toasted your motor bearings. They too can be replaced somewhat easily but if I were you, call a local electric motor repair shop to have them inspect and repair, as necessary. Will probably cost you $50-$75. Still, cheaper than purchasing a whole new pump

Impeller tightens on Aqua-Flo Series A brass pool pump

Thank you for posting your question here on Fixya.com.

There is no spacer. The impeller's internal nut and the shaft's shoulder set the spacing. The most likely problem is either the spring portion of the seal is not fully seated into the pump housing or the ceramic portion not fully seated into the impeller. You should also be sure you removed ALL of the old seal and parts. Many people leave the ceramic's boot in place and then the new seal seat will not seal properly.

Once the booster pump (for polaris 280) is turned on, water starts to leak badly from the front.

There is a bad seal and/or gasket in the pump allowing it to leak. It is usally the seal. Take it to a local electric motor or pump shop and the repair is probably under $50 total. You could also buy the parts to try it yourself, but the seal that pump takes (AS-1000) is a little tricky to seat properly. Besides, if your bearings are also damaged, the shop could fix that as well.

Need to put in new bearing, it is really starting

Bearing on new motor failed for some reason, Make sure the new one will last, check that all shields and water deflecters are in place and that pump seal is not leaking. New motor bearings should be sealed but water has a bad habit of getting into anytging we try to keep dry.
I recomend replacement of pump seal whenever pump is opened and impeller is removed, cheep insurance. Take your time and make sure everything is clean as it goes back together, don't lubricate the pump seal faces, the ceramic faces are designed to be self lubricating and anything (even fingerprint oils) on them can cause a leak.

What kind of oil do you put in a tsc130 wayne sump pump

The seal is bad and adding new oil will not fix that problem. If you get the seal fixed, normally you use 20 wt non-detergent oil in submersible pumps.
