Question about Simer ACE5S ACE5S Pump Well 1/2HP Ace 5S

1 Answer

Simer/Ace ACE5S, Shallow well pump, low GPM, low Pres. connected to a 35 Gal/H2ow-to waterworker tank. Pump comes on everytime we draw water, runs for several minutes with slightest draw, runs all time on large draw and continues for several minutes after shuting off tap.

I dropped the pressure in the tank to 22 Psi, now water runs quite a while before switching the pump on.--Still have low pressure and low volume.

I would check all fittimg and connections for small leaks. Also check foot valve and make sure there is no debree hanging up in it.It sounds to me like you are losing water at a slow rate. Have you checked pressure on tank. I set at 2 p.s.i. below cut in setting. Thanks

I know it can be quite a hassle sometimetimes but I would still recommend pulling the pump and checking any fittings you may have in the lines and the screen over the foot valve and clean the screen and valve as needed.. Have a nice day and I hope this helps you. Thanks Frodo

No water pressure and we just put in a new pressure tank and pump

Hi j_rodrigues5
Make sure you have about 1/4 of the tank with acts as a cushion and ensures that the pressure pump will turn on and off as needed.

Pump does not start everytime water is turned on only intermittantly.

hello two.... get back with some more details if this first response does not answer your question. If you have a typical shallow or deep well system, it is set up intentionally so that the pump does not come on every time the water is turned on. Instead, let's say the pump is set to come on when the pressure drops down to 20 pounds per square inch and turn off when the pressure hits 40 pounds per square inch.

As long as the pressure is within that range, turning on the water will not turn on the pump. Joe

Do I have to hook my tank to draw water from my well?

A bladder tank is designed to give a certain amount of gallons of "draw down" before the pump turns on. The pump will work with or without a bladder tank but will come on every time water is used. Well pumps (Jet or submersible) can run for extended periods of time without causing harm to the pump, but a pump that turns on and off constantly will eventually burn out because it is so hard on the pump.
Jet pumps need to keep "head pressure" to efficiently create the vacuum necessary to draw water from the drop pipe, this is partially what a well tank does.

Pump Housing is cracked. Can I replace the pump housing only?

To the best of my knowledge the housing is available seperatly but it is not cost effective in my estimation. I would try to use a epoxy type glue such as pro-poxy 20 or J.B weld and try to repair it. Hope this helps you and thanks.
