Question about HP G60t Notebook
Rumors on the internet or infinite, endless and wrong.
what can go wrong with 3billion transistors, and 17GB of windows files.... endless. (Rhetorical question)
forget all that. please.
what OS? you didn't say what windows it is>?
any modern web cam will work (not XP)
any mic for a PC works, its just a simple mic.
if in a hurry, got to any PC store. BEST buy? (i tossed a coin)
walk in say have DV7 laptop with windows 7 ( or what it is)
then ask for headphones or one onces with boom mic.
like you see vast folks do with SKYPE.
if PC is XP windows, good luck finding things that work
but you can. XP is dead now for 3 years.
Then choices are endless on all parts.
endless to the extreme.. CHOICES

Sound and Recording jacks stop working on the DV6000 series due to the ribbon cable running under the power button. when the power button is pushed it bends the flex cable and over time it breaks the connection rendering the front jacks useless you can buy a new upper button panel for about 20 dollars on ebay

Just fixed this problem on my son's DV6000 - the headphones worked but not the speakers. Thought it would be the headphone jack sticking but it was the ribbon cable (431437-001). It costs about $5.00 on eBay with shipping. You need to just removed the battery the 3 silver screws under the battery. Then take out the screws for the keyboard - remove the keyboard and replace the ribbon cable on the left. Just make sure you put the ribbon cable in the same way that you took the old one out. That solved my problem! Hope this helps. It's not that difficult! But take your time!

SOURCE: When I use my headphones
Assuming that the microphone jack is correctly connected, go to sound properties in Control Panel and check that microphone is checked and that the volume is correctly adjusted.
Hope this helps
