Question about Computers & Internet

I have an email account with which I use Outlook. It is buckalte45@ yahoo.com. I also have a Bellsouth account tbuck02@bellsouth.net. When I try and upgrade the yahoo account it automatically takes me to the bellsouth account. I do not want this. I want to keep them separate

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Accessing my bellsouth email account on samsung galaxy

Set your mail settings as below, but do it while you're connected to WiFi rather than cellular data.

Incoming mail server type: POP3
Incoming (POP): pop.att.yahoo.com
Incoming User Name: Full AT&T email address, including domain (e.g. yourname @ bellsouth.net, but without the spaces... the forum won't let me type it correctly because I'm new here)
Incoming mail port #: 995, secure connection (SSL) checked

Outgoing (SMTP): smtp.att.yahoo.com, with authentication (same user and password as POP)
Outgoing User Name: Full AT&T email address, including domain (e.g. yourname @ bellsouth.net)
Outgoing mail port # 465, secure connection (SSL) checked

I have configured my bellsouth email to migrate to new att/yahoo platforh, I cannot sted an email test to my email address "geneandmarty@bellsouth.net" help!

I can't get Bellsouth to work EITHER except with this particular glitch I've figured out something: AT&T bought Yahoo! for their email and email servers. What that means is that millions of people have FREE Yahoo! accounts - because it's free - while we Bellsouth and AT&T customers are PAYING for Yahoo! email - because Bellsouth ported everything over to Yahoo! servers. So, I cannot get my email - there is an error all afternoon including tonight at 8:30 PM EST - and I've had it with AT&T / Bellsouth / Yahoo! and am moving over to Comcast servers, INCLUDING 57 CORPORATE OFFICES, as of tomorrow. The fact is that while they are trying to port everything over the customers are suffering. I suggest that anyone having similar problems move away from AT&T. Signed, Mrs. Garvin.

Please can you help,i can recieve emails but not send them , how can i fix this. roger

Most often this problem occurs when your internet service provider (ISP) blocks their sending port from use by other servers.

Example: If your internet service provider is bellsouth for example and your outgoing mail server is set to mail.yahoo.com or smtp.yahoo.com or mail.yourdomainname.com etc.... it may be getting blocked by bellsouth. The do this to avoid spammers from using their systems.

To fix it, contact your internet service provider and ask what your outgoing mail server should be. For Bellsouth it would be mail.bellsouth.net. Replace your outgoing mail server information with the information provided by your ISP and all should work well.

I cant get my bellsouth.net incoming mail or outgoing. had to set up my computer ater losing everything what do i put for my incoming mail server(pop, imap, http incoming mail pop, imap or...

Im assuming you are using outlook express, if not, I apologize, but steps should be similar for other types of software:

  1. On the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.
  2. Click Add a new e-mail account, and then click Next.
  3. Click POP3, and then click Next.
  4. Under User Information, do the following:
    1. In the Your Name box, type your full name the way that you want it to appear to other people.
    2. In the E-mail Address box, type your e-mail user name, followed by @bellsouth.net.
  5. Under Server Information, do the following:
    1. In the Incoming mail server (POP3) box, type mail.bellsouth.net.
    2. In the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) box, type mail.bellsouth.net.
  6. Under Logon Information, do the following:
    1. In the User Name box, type your full e-mail address, including the @bellsouth.net domain.
    2. In the Password box, type your password.
    3. Select the Remember password check box.
Note You have the option to have Outlook remember your password by typing it in the Password box and selecting the Remember password check box. Having Outlook remember your password means that you won't have to type your password each time you access the account; however, it also means that the account is vulnerable to anyone who has access to your computer.
  1. To verify that your account is working, click Test Account Settings. If there is missing or incorrect information, such as your password, you are prompted to supply or correct it. Make sure your computer is connected to the Internet.
  2. Click More Settings.
  3. On the General tab, under Mail Account, type BellSouth.net.
  4. Click the Outgoing Server tab, and then select the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication check box.
  5. Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server, and then click OK.
  6. Click Next, and then click Finish.
Notes
  • Do not select the Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) check box.
  • Unless specified by BellSouth.net, all server and address entries are typed in lowercase letters.
Good Luck!
