Why won't my inglis dryer heat up

if electric? check ur thermal shut off and thermistor with a multimeter. does it run at all? if it does it wont be thermal shut off but may be ur heating element? is it gas or electric? Gas? 1. may need to check ur coils which regulate the flow of gas, ? 2. CHECK Igniter which ignites the flame, or 3. CHECK THE glow bar. there are also thermostats on the heating eleemt you will want to check with a multimeter. the thermal cutoff, the hi-lo thermostat and the element itself.

Inglis Gas Dryer... mercy me?

Sounds like what you said. Time for a motor. The motor has an internal overload and will shut the machine off if the motor runs hot.

Inglis gas dryer heat wont stay on

Hello, This problem is going to be your safety valve coils...basically they get old and over time of heating then cooling develop a short when they heat up...It may appear the gas lights to start but then goes out until the safety valve coils cool back down. Here is a picture of the coils 57d5263.jpgThis The coils are mounted to the gas saefty valve, This should solve your problem. Hope this helps, Please feel free to comment again if you have any further questions or concerns. Good Luck! Mike

Inglis Gas Dryer Does not heat up at all, No spark, no flame

When you start the dryer , after a few seconds do you hear a distinct click sound from inside the bottom of the dryer at the burner assembly? If you do not, you most likely have a bad thermal fuse, part# 3392519 or 3390719, depending on your dryer. Its the same fuse just different shape, both will work. This is most likely your problem. If you do hear a click, you may have a bad ignitor. Best way to test is to check for 120 at the ignitor. If you have anymore questions or need parts feel free to ask in my forum at www.washermd.com, thanks, Dave

Inglis gas dryer heat loss

It sounds like you have an intermittent gas valve. The ignitor is calling for heat however the gas valve doesnt want to open.

Make sure you turn off the gas and unplug before replacing.

Check for leaks after you reassemble.

After a few heating cycles the burner does not ignite

The problem you are describing is usually associated with a bad gas valve coil. The dryer runs normally until it gets hot, then starts making a strange clicking noise. After it cools down, the dryer runs normally again. The gas valve coils (there are two of them) usually run about $20 a piece. I recommend replacing both of them at the same time just to be sure. I hope this helps.
