I simply cannot find the wireless driver for my t40 2373 ibm thinkpad. please help. ive looked for hours, download things and nothing works.

Hello,
at the following link you will find the possible drivers for the T40 serie. Look under the section Networking: Wireless.
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-46258
Make sure to identify which wireless adapter you have in your current system.

MY ibm THINKPAD WILL NOT CONNECT TO INTERNET IS THERE A WIRELESS CONNECTION BUTTON i HAVE TRIED fN+f5

I do not think there is a switch, however some of the T40's came without a wireless card installed, but was optional. Here are the part numbers if you need them to order one. 39T0071
39T0077
93P3483
91P7301

All from IBM

Where is the switch to turn on the wireless for the ibm thinkpad t40

The T40 does not have a switch to turn the wireless card, the correct wireless driver only needs to be installed.
The same model ThinkPads can have several different video and audio drivers and unless you know exactly which one is installed in your ThinkPad, you need to download all the drivers and install each driver until you find the right driver.
When you download the drivers, write down the device driver and it’s file name so you have a record of which driver you are installing and which directory the unzipped files are located on your hard drive.
Go to the IBM/Lenovo WEB site - support/download page and download the latest Windows XP or Vista device drivers for your model computer, Use this link: -
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?template=%2Fproductselection%2Flandingpages%2FbrowseByProductLandingPage.vm&sitestyle=lenovo&brandind=10&validate=true
You can download the various drivers and then you click on and run the various driver files, they will then unzip and expand into a sub folder on C:\drivers Then install the various drivers from this folder (run the set-up file).

You should be able to get this driver from the IBM website. Just click the Support link and lookup your exact model #. Select the o/s Windows 7 and a list of all available drivers should appear. Scroll down until your find the wireless adapter driver. Download and install. You should be all set. Hope this helps.

Where is the wireless switch on the IBM think pad?

Use Fn + F5 (most thinkpads) to enable your wireless.
If you are used to a menu, visit www.lenovo.com (the producer of IBM Thinkpads for ages) and download System Update (a program which will download a lot of updates and drivers for your Thinkpad)
