Question about Lenovo Computers & Internet
I own a lenovo thinkpad. my problem is that monitor remains completely black when thinkpad is turned on,but it seems that its hard drive is working ,as shadows of icons can be seen.
Based on your description, it would seem that your laptop's problem is only the display, more specifically the backlight. Often problems such as these are caused by the inverter circuitry, a long PCB strip that converts the laptop's DC power to a high frequency, high voltage that in turns power the CCF lamp (cold cathode florescent). They are readily available for most brands and models. Probably the most difficult part in thee actual repair would be disassembling the LCD panel display lid and covering to expose the inside. The part number would also be printed on the said PCB.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
