Hi,

Based on your description, it would seem that your laptop's problem is only the display, more specifically the backlight. Often problems such as these are caused by the inverter circuitry, a long PCB strip that converts the laptop's DC power to a high frequency, high voltage that in turns power the CCF lamp (cold cathode florescent). They are readily available for most brands and models. Probably the most difficult part in thee actual repair would be disassembling the LCD panel display lid and covering to expose the inside. The part number would also be printed on the said PCB.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

hi,

Did you try to adjust the brightness by pressing Fn then the arrow key going to the right, if nothing happens, try to boot you computer to safemode by restarting the computer and then keep on tapping F8 then choose safemode from the list, if its still the same, theres a possibility that there is a problem with the LCD itself and need to be replaced.

Hope this will help...

Screen not working.

Hi,
If there's an external image, here's the possibilities:
Bad inverter (25-30.00)
Bad backlight in lcd (new lcd 75.00-100.00)
THe cable has been disconnected from the lcd or the motherboard.
That's really all it can be. Is there any image, no matter how faint, on the lcd? If so, I'd go for a new inverter.
Good luck, hope it helps.
