Connect the unit to computer and check if you can see music files.

If you did a complete factory reset all files had been deleted. This kind of reset perform a complete format of the mass storage unit inside your MP3, in this case there is no way to recover the files.
Check that you did not just change the folder, in this case you just need to browse and access the right folder.
It is easier to check this by connecting the device to computer.
