Do not waste your time looking for a CMOS battery to reset password, it will not work. The solution is to take or send the laptop to a Toshiba service Center and have the password erased or reset. Try external monitor, if it works then more likley the backlight inverter or the lamp is bad.

First, check the memory (RAM) of your computer. remove and put it back in. Also checkif therre is only one or two memory sticks in, so you can check on both. It should work fine, and if not, try replacing the memory of your laptop.

There is place under laptop where you add additional Ram.Just remove the bolt and then cover. There are 2 places for Ram.
