There are usually bay doors on the underside of the laptop that contain screws to hold them in. One of these bay doors contains the RAM. Be careful when using tools to unscrew the bay doors. make sure not to use magnetic screwdrivers because there is a chance you could mess up a piece of hardware. it is also recommended that when disassembling a laptop or any PC you use an anti-static wrist strap to prevent any components from being ruined due to static shock.

Location of cmos battery on toshiba satellite laptop L455-S5008

Do not waste your time looking for a CMOS battery to reset password, it will not work. The solution is to take or send the laptop to a Toshiba service Center and have the password erased or reset. You may have to show proof of ownership of the laptop and you will have to pay for the service if the laptop is out of warranty.

Ihave a Toshiba Satelitte L455 laptop that will not boot. the power light is lit but the fan does not turn on

Computer does not boot upThe problem maybe the RAM, it is faulty or just needsreseating to make proper electrical contact.
Reseat the RAM and then boot up your laptop. If it still does not boot up thenremove the RAM module/s and take them to your friendly computer repair shop andget them to test the RAM for you.Just like you sometimes need a mechanic to repair your car, sometimes you do need a technician to diagnose and identify the fault or faultson your computer. Not only does a good service technican have the experience todeal with this type of problem, they also have the equipment that allows themto look at things the average computer user can't see, and he has a collectionof replacement parts that can be used to quickly test individual components onyour computer.

I have a Toshiba Satelitte L455 laptop that will not boot. When the power button is pushed, the fan turns or and the power light is lit but that is it. Any ideas?

I would suggest to remove Hard Drive and RAM. Then try to turn on. If it will beep and/or show any errors then you have faulty RAM and/or hard Drive. If it still blank, then most likely motherboard gone bad.

The BIOS and Supervisor passwords cannot be removed or changed unless you know the existing password(s). If you forget your BIOS or Supervisor password, you will have to have the password removed by a Toshiba Authorized Service Provider

First, check the memory (RAM) of your computer. remove and put it back in. Also checkif therre is only one or two memory sticks in, so you can check on both. It should work fine, and if not, try replacing the memory of your laptop.
