Scanner has stopped pulling paper through. Tried cleaning and still doesn't work. What next?

Verify that the intake roller is turning, that there is no obstruction keeping the paper from reaching it, and that the rubber on the roller is not too hardened to grip the paper.

My Brother MFC 210C Printer, Copier, Scanner isn't feeding the paper. How do I fix this?

Use a water dampened cloth to clean the pickup roller. They get residue on them over time that causes them to not grip the surface of the paper when feeding.

For some reason our printer is slipping while printing

Hi there,

what tends to happen is that the rubber feed rollers go shiny so cant grip the paper properly, sometimes you can get a maintenance kit which replaces the parts that wear, but a simple trick which sometimes helps is to get something like an emery board (ladies use them to file their nails) and gentle rough up the surface of these rollers, dont be too rough, otherwise you will make the rollers too small to grip the paper, almost no pressure at all, just dull up the surface.
Hope this works/helps

Paper jammed - how do I get it out?

  • Follow the below steps to clear the paper jam

Clear any loose paper from the paper tray. This will help you locate the jam. You will find it either in front, near the paper tray, or in the rear.

  • To clear a paper jam near the paper tray, grip the paper and pull it firmly but gently from the printer. If you find a stack of papers jammed, grab from the middle of the stack and pull.

  • For a rear jam, remove the back of the printer. When you find a free edge on the paper, grip it firmly and pull it out.
  • Replace the back cover. Press the "Resume" button or turn off the printer, and then turn it back on. Your settings should reset.

  • Try printing another document.

Scanner pulls through more than one sheet at a time, continually, but not all the time, and often jams for no apparent reason.

Clean the rubber rollers with a damp, but well wrung, cloth. No solvents please!. This will remove all the paper dust and give necessary grip to the rollers. If they are worn out you need to replace them.

Scanner will not load from top feeder. Error says paper jam but no paper is jammed into the feeder.

the rollers may be broken, this would give the appearance of the paper jam to the printer

E4 comes up on panel saying clear paper jam

With out knowing which stylus you have there error either refers to a paper jam or ink cartridge error. If it takes the beging of the paper but then stops it could be a matter of worn rollers that are not able to grip and move the whole page.
