White screen with vertical colour bands that move horizontal

Memory (picture) chips or leaf connections around screen. The leaf connections are not always solid at the factory. I have seen videos where people use foam to press leaf connections to contacts. Frame or cover holds Foam in place.

My 50 inch vizio plasma tv has a 7 inch blue line down the center of the screen and there are a couple white half iunch lines in the center of that. if i hit the input button it will disappear and then...

Since the lines are vertical, the image is lost sideways and the corruption changes with the image then clearly this is a sign of Y-Sus failure, not the Z-Sus or the buffer boards.
An logic or input board failure would affect the entire screen, not just a part of it and a failure in one of the buffer boards would affect strictly defined lines of pixels and the defect would be constantly there all the time.
Since you haven't told us the exact model i can't point you to a replacement board.

I get ghost images. Is there a way to de-gaus an LCD monitor?

Sounds like it's either ghosting, or image persistance.

Ghosting on LCD monitors is usually caused by interference via the monitor cable. Try moving your monitor cable so that it doesn't pass near any other cables or electronic devices. If that helps, then position the cable away from the others perminantly or replace the cable with a "shielded" monitor cable.

Image persistance on an LCD can be caused by leaving it on with the same image for a very long time. The pixels don't exactly "burn-in" like on the old CRT monitors, but over time, they can develop a memory that causes them to change color slowly or incompletely. Prevention is best (turn the monitor off when not in use, or use a rotating screen saver.) But if it is already a problem, you do have a few options. You can turn it off for a long time, run a rotating screen saver for a long time, or display a solid white screen for a while. Another technique is to create a slideshow in the Windows screensaver with a solid white image and a solid black image (create them in MS Paint and save them where you can find them later.) Let it alternate between the white and black screens for a while and check to see improvements.

Good luck!

My screen starts going white at the bottom and works up the screen untill all white. I turn the moniter off and on again and it works for a few minutes then does it again.

hello :-) I am guessing that its your screen's problem of what is happening not the computer's. If you want to make sure that its the screens problem look down at your computers tower ( while this white screen problem occurs)  and see if the little orange/yellow light is solid ( that represents the processor ) . If the light is solid that means that it might be the computers problem. but if it isn't solid that means its the screens problem. I would recommend trying a older screen ( you or a friend might own ) and hook that up to your computer/tower if the screen doesn't do what you are describing in your problem that means that its the screen's problem and that you need to buy a new screen.

White background

Well, first thing would be to turn off screen saver. Right click on the screen anywhere, go to properties, screensaver, from the pull down check none, apply and close. May need to reboot. then let's see if it's a screensaver problem. Good luck

White screen

First, always try it on multiple types of computers (different video cards), and multiple cables. Then, open it up and make sure the internal connections are solid. Finally, consider putting in a new inverter. This has been known to fix all-black and all-white monitor problems.
