SOURCE: bissell lift off pet-no suction through base (hose is fine)

I had a similar problem with mine. When you take the collector container out, if you reach your hand up, you will fill a round, plastic piece. Gently turn it and the piece pulls out. On the outside of the piece is a foam filter that may be plugged. There is another filter underneath the collection container in a pull-out drawer. Both filters can be washed with cool water, allowed to dry totally, then replaced. I understand that both of these filters need to be washed "frequently". It worked for me, hope it works for you.

SOURCE: loss of suction bissell vacume

Under the red flap in the water resevoir, there is a small screen. Pop that screen out and clean it. It is probably blocked with hair. I took my entire machine apart trying to fix this problem and I finally saw that screen. I cleaned it out and my machine works like new now.

SOURCE: Bissell ProHeat 2X(9200) hose to cleaner solution no suction

There are a couple areas to check:
1. The black gasket where clearview water collecting unit and the base's front meet. Ensure gasket is in good condition.
2. Check if you're getting sufficient suction: remove the water collecting unit. When you turn on the the unit, you'll feel suction out of a black hose pointing upwards next to the grey dial. If you're not getting sufficient suction you need to check that all the gaskets are seated properly. there are 3 gaskets: (1) an orange one seated between the black hose and the base unit (2 and 3): On the bottom of the unit there is a removeable panel. This panel has a gasket (red) and inside there is a white gasket.

I would suggest taking it to your local vacuum cleaner store and have them look at it. Most bagless cleaners need to be serviced annually to maintain performance.

Hose won't ****

If the hose has no suction but the suction is good at the floor it is probably a clog in the hose or one of the tubes.

Turbo brush on bissell cleanview helix stopped spinning

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

There are a number of reasons why your brush roller has stopped moving. General maintenance to your vacuum is crucial and will help it work at peak performance.

First things first lets focus on the brush roller. Unplug the vacuum and turn it on its side. Look for any noticeable clumps of debris or hair strands that may be caught in the brush roller. Remove these obstructions, probably best to do so with a scissor if it's hair or long pieces of carpet fibers. After removing the debris try manually rotating the brush roller to uncover other hidden clogs. Another thing to take note of is the condition of the bristles on the roll itself. Are they loose or worn down? These are signs that your brush roller is in need of replacing.

While checking out your brush roll you might as well take a look at your vacuum's belt. Your belt should be replaced about every three months. After regular usage, the belt will stretch out, lessening the tension on the brush roller. Lesser tension diminishes the brush roller's turn rate and speed. If the belt feels loose then it certainly is affecting your vacuums suction as well as your brush roll not moving at all.

sounds like there is blockage in the suction hose -- lay the machine down and remove the lower floor plate and clean out the hose area where it bends down to the floor unit ( use a wire coat hanger to fish out the blockage ). also check the main hose for any obstructions.

My bissell helix is blowing out the dirt it picks up

sounds like you have a blockage in the suction hose --- 9 times out of 10 the blockage is at the area of the machine where the hose kinda bends down to the floor unit. remove the bottom plate ( like you were going to replace the belt ) and look up into the hose and see if it is clogged -- use a wire coat hanger to fish out any debris. also check the main filter and tap out and use a brush to clean as good as you can ( a air compressor works best for this ) .. ( some filters are made to be washed in the dish washer,, check to see if your filter can ba washed ),, after all is clean and clear your vacume should be running like new again.
