I have my Moms GE Automatic skillet (CAT. No. C 100) perhaps 40-50 years old. The thermostat in the handle needs repair. Are patts still available and if so, where? Can I ship it for repair.

Thanks for your prompt reply. I have the original maintenance/cookbook phamphlet with very little info re part numbers. However, on the underside of the skillet, it sez: General Eletric Skillet CAT. No. 26C100 120 volts, 900 watts-AC only, Bridgeport, Conn. Skillet may be immersed in water up to indicator light> The phamphlet has a list of GE service centers nationwide. The closest to me (if still existing) are: 326 Broadway NY., 5554 Chestnut St. Philadelphia, Pa. I also bought a new plug-in for the handle, so, that is o.k. The temp. selector boils at 200 and the heat resistant knob gets very, very hot. Hope this helps.

I have the original phamphlet called the "Use and Care Book." It has no maint. parts or numbers. However, on the underside of the skillet bottom it has: General Electric Skillet" Cat. No. 26C100 120 volts 900 watts-AC only Bridgeport, Conn. Made in USA. Skillet may be immersed in water up to indicator light. The Use and Care Book lists many Service Centers nation wide the closest to me would be (if still existing) 326 Broadway,NY, NY and 5554 Chestnut St. Phila, Pa. I bought a new plug in so that is not the problem. The temp. selector is definitely gone as it will boil at 200 and the heat resistant handle becomes extremely hot at the plug in site. Hope this helps.

As far as I can tell parts are not available for this skillet. If you can get me a model or part number I would be happy to do more looking. Thank you.

Fridge compressor working constantly

You either have a bad thermostat or the defrost system is not working. This is not a repair the un-skilled homeowner can handle. Try to find an honest repair person. If it is several years old, may not be cost effective to have repaired. Average life of a new frig is in the 8 year range. Lucky if you get more. Older ones were better.

Am I able to find a temperature cord to replace the 169025 cord?

Apparently you're not the only person to have trouble obtaining this part. I've read that GE does not make the power cord / thermostat assembly available for purchase separately, but you could consult the GE support page to contact them directly to see if they have other options available to you.

I found a reference here on FixYa that someone else wrote about and they were provided the following number to call:

This will connect you to the GE / Walmart customer service group. Apparently, you must have purchased the appliance at Walmart for this group to help you out. Of course, if you say you bought it at Walmart - and they never sold that model - you won't get any help. Apparently Walmart has a pretty liberal return / replacement policy, so it can't hurt to try.

I hope this helps and good luck. Please rate my reply, thank you.

I have an old Icebox and I was cleaning it and gas or some type of air started coming out of a hole in the back...what is coming out? Do I need a new fridge?

I'm going to guess you broke a freon line when you were cleaning it. It might have had a spot that was almost rusted through and when you cleaned it you knocked off what little protection it had left. If you weren't being rough with your cleaning, then chances are it would have blown through pretty soon by itself. To repair it, the freon line will have to be repaired and new freon and a drier installed. Since you said it was an "old" refrigerator, I don't think it would be cost effective to have it repaired. Depending on the availability of used units in your area, you could probably pick up one 4 or 5 years old for cheaper than the repair. Depending on the age(say 10 years old for arguments sake), you will have put around 100 bucks into it...but still have a 10 year old compressor, thermostat, etc. I picked up a 4 year old top mount for $150 a year ago.
Hope this helps, and remember the repair vs. replacement cost analysis is just my opinion

Ice Maker Flooding- how to detach plug to replace

Dear friend,
ngfam at you service! happy to assist!

They are correct I pull them out 4 times a week!
Perhaps it is just jammed in withe corrosion or frozen!
If you failed to pull it out by hand, get a rubber handled channel lock and grab it tight and wiggle it a little as you pull or pry id out gently! THE ONLY WAY TO GET IT OUT ,EVEN IF SERVICE DOES IT WILL BE TO PULL THE PLUG OUT!!!!!!!!!

Perhaps you should try service!
We sell appliances for 65 years and I recommend this nation wide Factory repair service!

Call A&E Factory Service /They service nation wide
And are available 24/7 for making appointments!

If the appliance is 10 years old or more,it may make sense not to invest any money to fix it!

Happy to assist you,
