Hi,

Turn on the laptop. After the blue screen appears, press "F10" key repeatedly until the "Recovery Menu" appears. A progress indicator informs you of the time before the recovery process is to take place.

Click "Next" in the Recovery Menu. Decide whether you want to perform a nondestructive or destructive recovery. A "nondestructive recovery" does not format the laptop's hard drive or erase any personal files on your laptop. However, a "destructive recovery" formats your laptop's hard drive and erases any personal files you have on your laptop. This will remove all of your information on the laptop. So, make sure that you have done a backup so you will still have it.

Click "Yes" to execute a "Normal, nondestructive recovery." The restore process begins and your laptop restarts. Alternatively, to execute a destructive recovery, click "Advanced." Click "Yes" to start the "Destructive recovery." The restore process begins and your laptop restarts.

Please get back to us if you have further query else please accept the suggestion.

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

SOURCE: I need to set my computer back to factory settings

You have two options:
1 - Contact HP for the CD set.
2 - Purchase XP or VISTA and install new.
Normally, the CD's are not available as a download.

SOURCE: i dont know how to restore my asus x58c laptop to

Bottom line- You can't. Unlike other electrical equipment there is no magic "factory reset" button. You need at least an OS install disc and a back-up of the drivers. At one time the discs were supplied with PC's but this very rarely happens and the paperwork supplied normally advises you make your own back up discs before you get carried away, but it very rarely happens.

It may be worth looking at why you wish to restore to original, is it necessary?

You can't, but you don't actually need to do exactly that. What you really need to do (and can btw) is to reinstall Windows. For that use a generic Windows Install disk that you can borrow from someone and your key. Later you will have to load all the drivers manually.

What do you mean by "back to the factory settings"?
If you want the laptop back to when you first bought it then you need to format the hard disk and do a fresh Windows install plus install the device drivers for your laptop.

Hi there,
If it has a recovery partition you should be able to access it by pressing the 0 key while powering the laptop on. Give that a shot and see if the Toshiba recovery wizard comes up.

Forgotten password

Hello:

If you want to restore your laptop to factory setting: You should insert your "recovery disk to the CD/DVD ROM. and then shutdown the laptop.

Now; boot your laptop using the recovery disk(boot the laptop from CD/DVD rom) This will no need to input the password: its either you have to restore the system without deleting the existing files or you have to partition and format the hard drive. formatting hard drive you will end up with fresh copy of system files. same as first day when you purchase the laptop.

be sure to install the driver if there's any.

However; if you tend to do by supplying the password. iguess all factory installation has no password. you have to strike the enter without supplying any password.

may this help,
