The problem is in the remote charger or batteries in each phone is the issue. If you are handy with a meter, "set it to DC volts" press down on the charging tabs, you should have at least 3.6V to 12V if it reads 0 the remote charger is defective.

Both the remote charger and batteries in both phones are operating OK. The problem is charging the phone at the base unit. The charging tabs in the base unit reads 0 volts.

Okay! that is where the problem is, check the power source going into the main base, "if you have a plug in type remove and check, if unit is hard wired, main base must be taken apart and the voltage traced to see where the problem is.

Why did my Panasonic phone quit charging in base unit?

Check the condition of the charge contact tips in the phone cradle, there are uaually two or three spring loaded pins that contact the phone charge contacts. Make sure these are clean and the springs still work. If these are good, you can check the output of the charger with a volt meter at the spring loaded pins, you can get the correct voltage off of one of the satellite units and compare it to the base. If the base is not putting out the same voltage the charger has likely failed.

Battery not recharging when put in remote holder Logitech 850

This is a common problem for these remotes. Constant handling of the remote results in dirty charging contacts located on the bottom of the remote. Oils and acids from your fingers and hands also dirty the charging contacts. Also the contacts on the charging cradle can become dirty. I would recommend cleaning BOTH the charging contacts AND the cradle contacts using a Q-tip and some good quality rubbing alcohol.Be careful to just wet the Q-tip and gently scrub the contacts only. Careful regular maintenance should help you resolve this problem. Also you could check the Logitech website for recommendations on how to clean their equipment. Good Luck!

My Harmony One remote will no longer charge. I took the battery out of it and place it in my Harmony 880 and placed it in it charging cradle. It started charging. I know it is not a battery issue. Yes...

This is a common problem for these remotes. Constant handling of the remote results in dirty charging contacts located on the bottom of the remote. Oils and acids from your fingers and hands also dirty the charging contacts. Also the contacts on the charging cradle can become dirty and have been known to not make solid contact. You can also try the rubber band trick!! Which is while placing the remote into the docking cradle, listen for a beep which indicates a solid connection. While still maintaining a solid grip on both charger and remote wrap a rubber band around both devices. This should ensure a good connection while the remote is charging! Good Luck!

Charging problem

The fact that one charges on all 3 base units rules out any problem on the base units. Sounds like the batteries on the 2 faulty handsets need to be replaced. I suggest you return it to the store, and get yuh money back, or replacement

My 880 will not charge I used this 2 years ago and it worked The remote still holds the old settings I now want yo use it but the unit said battery low recharge. I tried to charge it but it would not...

There is a trick with these remotes. Take a tiny piece of paper and
wedge it in between the battery and the side of the battery compartment
opposite the battery contacts when you insert battery.
This will apply more pressure between battery contacts and remote.
Now your harmony should properly charge up overnight.
Had the same problem with mine and the paper trick fixed it.
Was even able to use the old battery again.
Has something to do with the three contacts on the battery.
All 3 need to make good contact.

Find HS doesn't work

Had sets will not beep if the battery is too low or drained of its charge. The power for the beep needs to come from a good battery charge, so if you are missing a hand set and its been out of the charge cradle for a long time, or the unit is more than 4 years old and the batteries wont charge anymore, then you can't use the find handset feature and probably can't use it to talk as well.
If you know that the batteries are good, then there are 2 other possibilities: the seek signal needs to be reset by unplugging power to the base unit for one minute and allowing the circuits to reset themselves, or the seek button is not making good contact inside and this would require someone with knowledge to open the base unit and clean or repair the button contacts. Finally, many hans sets have an on/off/standby feature. If the handset is in off position, the it isthe same as if you removed the battery and it will never beep; it must be on standby.

I have a KX TG2356 cordless, when I hang up the hand set, the battery will not recharge, why? I got out an old KX-TG2258 and put the hand set on it and it IS charging, but I can use that with my current...

typical fault is bad or no connection between charging terminals and hand set charging terminals...try to clean them using emery cloth or fine sand paper....sometimes even though the contacts look clean they still have bad connections because of an oxide layer that builds up....that oxide layer can easily be taken off with a light sanding......if that doesn't work, then have your hand set checked for internal open solder lines or regulator circuitry faults that regulates power feed to the battery to monitor charging status...
good luck

Logitech harmony 880 won't charge

Clean the leads on both the charger and on the remote itself with rubbing alcohol.
We had this problem (it would lose connection periodically for no apparent reason, then eventually wouldn't even register that it was set down). The leads sure looked clean, but shining them up with rubbing alcohol (recommended on one of the Logitech boards) got it to start charging again.

Remote control could not be charged at its base

I have the same remote. Clean the contacts on both the remote and the charger base. Then place the remote in the charger. If it does not start charging, wiggle the remote back and forth in the base while pushing down gently. It should begin charging. I have found I must clean the charging contacts every few months.
