What video card are you using? I googled your model and your speak of the fn key is incorrect. You are using a desktop.

First of all do you have the right cables and output from your PC to connect to your HDTV? 2ndly does your PCs graphics card support HD?
If so Right click on your desktop, choose properties and then settings. depending on your video card you should be able to configure the output to your TV in here or in the Advanced section

Depending on the keyboard and computer hot key setup, I believe holding CTRL and pressing the FN key will disable FN lock, if not try ALT and FN.

Hi Henley,

Try holding down the blue fn key, and press and release f5. This key combination changes video output modes on Acer laptops. Also, bring your video resolution down to it's minimal settings and try again. Reply if you still have any issues and I can help further.

I need to use fn + f8 to use an external monitor from my dell pc. The keyboard does not have an fn key. How canI accomplish this?

Did you install an aftermarket video card? If not, generally you can change setting from your desktop. Right clikc on desktop, select Personalize or properties (depends on version of Windows). From there select display settings and select you monitor. Otherwise try holding down the control button while pressing the F8 key.

I have purchased an AOC 22" monitor to connect to my laptop >>>>>i have connected it but it does not display. What is wrong.

Depending on the laptop. Most have a key on the keyboard to toggle external display. Usually, you have to hold the function key [FN] then push the external display toggle.

Not booting up

just connect the external monitor to the vga output and then press the fn key and the video output change key in the laptop. that's it

even with the fn key not pressed the video output should come right away when you connect the monitor.

if ur laptop doesn't have vga connector. then look for the appropriate connector.

Blank screen on my laptop but power button is on.

Depending on what kind of laptop you have, your button may look different. Look at the Function keys (all those keys up at the top that have F's in front of them) and see if there is another colored symbol on any of them. You should find a colored symbol that looks like a rectangular monitor.

Press another key toward the bottom of your keyboard that probably says "Fn" or some other kind of "Function" key - not Alt, Ctrl, or Shift. Hold that Fn key down while you press the first key you found that looks like a monitor. That will change your laptop video output mode between several different modes like: laptop LCD panel only; LCD panel and external monitor; and external monitor only.

The purpose of this is if you wanted to plug another monitor into the back of your laptop, or a projector for a meeting or presentation, etc.

Newer monitor to older xp pc

If your monitors are displaying "no signal" they aren't receiving input from the video card. If your PC has two video outputs (onboard) try charging to the other output to see if it will come on. Also reseat your video card in its slot. Also, what can you see that lets you know the keyboard and mouse are not working?
