Question about Oki Electric Industry OKI B410dn Digital Monochrome Laser Printer

Open Question

The ready light on our printer will not come on. It will not connect to our computer. It says that the toner drum needs to be replaced, but we already did that and to no avail. We have restarted both the computer and the printer, checked all the cables to see if they were connected(and they are) but we still cannot get out documents to print. How can we fix this? We work at a hotel and need the printer NOW!!

Why does brother 2250dn drumlight keeps flashing after replacement

When replacing the drum on the Brother Machines you need to reset the machine's drum counter. To do this, with the front of the machine open (Where the Drum and Toner unit go) press and hold the go button till all the lights (Toner, Drum, Error and Ready) are lit then release the go button. Close the front of the machine and your drum counter has been reset.

How to replace drum?

Replacing the drum on these machines is pretty simple. Leaving the power on, open the hatch at the front and remove the toner/drum assembly inside. You may need to lift it slightly then pull toward youself firmly. The toner cartridge sits inside the drum unit. Depress the green tab on the left corner and lift the toner cartridge out. Transfer the toner cartridge to the new or rebuilt drum (DR2125), press it firmly in to place. Return the drum/toner assembly to the printer, pushing it in as far as it will go. Press and hold the red stud left hand side in line with the lights until ALL the lights are on. Then release the stud and close the front hatch. and you have replaced the drum and reset the drum page count. The machine should then have only the blue ready light on

The "ready" and "alarm" light

Please do the cleaning of DRUM unit by sliding several time the blue lever. Maybe your charge corona unit is dirty with some dust or toner. Also power off and then on the printer. Check that everything is OK with paper path and tray.
P.S. DRUM UNIT has to be replaced after making a 20000 pages. If you don't want to buy a new one then it should be reset.

Is there a print counter on Lexmark E120N? I've just installed a new toner and wondered whether I could check how many prints I got from the started cartridge and how many I get from this new one. Whilst...

Press the green "play" button and it will print out a stats page telling you all the information about the printer, including print count. There is no way to vary how much toner is used through the printer, only by using the software to vary how heavy or light you would like your documents printed. When the drum (photoconductor) is starting to fail, the light which flashes to tell you the toner is low will come on and stay steadily lit. If you replace the toner and it doesn't go out, then more than likely the drum is ready to be replaced. Very simple to do and should come with instructions on how to reset the drum counter, if not a call to Lexmark tech support will answer your question. We have one at my work and have had to replace our drum already. It was simple and the tech was very helpful.

Drum light flashes

This means that you will need to replace the drum soon. Order a new drum and when the light becomes steady or the print quality becomes poor, replace the drum. The drum should last ~12,000 pages. The part number is DR350. You may be able to order this from your Office Supply store; otherwise try the Brother Mall site: .

The procedure is similar to replacing the toner but instead of putting a new thing of toner inside the drum, you remove the toner and put it in the new drum. Open the front cover and pull out the drum and toner assembly. Place on newspaper or other disposable material (toner may spill). Push down the blue lever to unlock the toner cartridge. Remove the cartridge from the drum. Unpack the new drum (keep it out of the light until ready to replace the drum). Push the toner cartridge into the new drum until it locks into place; the blue lever should lift automatically. Put the assembly back in the printer. Clean the printer as recommended in the manual while it is open; this includes cleaning the corona wire before replacing the drum assembly.

After replacing the drum, reset the drum counter: with the printer on and the drum light blinking, open the front cover and press and hold the GO button until all of the LEDs light up (about 4 seconds). Then release the GO button and close the cover. Check that the drum light is off. (The manual says you should do the reset first but I tend to avoid this in case of distractions.)

I hope this helps.

Low print quality

It depends upon the number of prints you have done since Feb and the toner cartridge capacity. Some toner cartridges have 2500 page capacity others have 5000 pages or more.
If you think you have not exceeded or reached the cartridge capacity, take it out of the printer and give it a shake in a horizontal position to distribute the toner evenly across the drum and place it back in the printer. This also works when the toner is nearly empty.

Printer Problems

Hi, it sounds like you need to change the drum. If you are using the High Yield TN660 toner is your printer, then the drum needs changing every 3-4 toners. If using the low yield TN6300 toner then your drum needs to be replaced every 6-7 toners. Hope this helps

You need to replace the drum and toner to correct the issue. That's the sign of the drum at its end of life.
