  1. Open http://192.168.0.1/ in your web browser (Firefox recommended), which should open the DIR615's administrative page from the standard D-link firmware.
    1. The D-link's default login details are user "admin", password is blank.
    2. Tools -> Firmware
    3. Click "browse" button -> select the "dir615[edition]-factory-to-ddwrt-firmware.bin" file -> click "Upload" button.
    4. Wait 2 or 3 minutes for the DIR-615 to flash and do the update. You will see a status page that shows you the progress as it happens. After the flash & update is done, the router will reboot to dd-wrt, and the IP address will have changed to 192.168.1.1. There is no need to reset.
    5. If it tells you that you've uploaded firmware for the wrong hardware, you may need to try another browser. This happened for me using Google Chrome on Linux, until I tried using Firefox(Same on Windows, IE6 helps). If your dlink 615 C1 is at f/w 3.12 or 3.11 you may have to revert it to 3.10 and then install the dd-wrt.
  2. Open http://192.168.1.1/ in web browser. Will probably have to update your IP address (if using static IP) to this subnet to be able to connect. This should open DD-WRT's web interface. Configure DD-WRT as desired.
  3. You're finished! No need to 30/30/30 hard reset, but you can reboot your router after several minutes. (I don't know if it has to build anything in NVRAM, but better safe than sorry.)

I am re-configuring my Belkin wireless router and ip adr 192.168.2.1 is not accessable. I have connected my PC directly to the router and have internett access.

make sure your pc has an ip address in the 192.168.2.xxx range while you're configuring the modem (set a static one TEMPORARILY) to get access to modem. Don't expect Internet to work during this temporary situation for router configuration. be sure you change your ip (and DNS) settings back to "obtain automatically." Restart computer before trying to get on Internet again.

BTW, what are you trying to accomplish--overall; why are you reconfiguring your router? Will it stay on this network?

Network

as long as you are not using your own router to connect to your neighbours, as this wont work only one router on the network can connect to the net Im assuming your pc is trying to connect to the neighbours router, so you need to reset the router if you cant access it, it should have no password as default and the ip address of the router should be 192.168.2.1. get into your network cards properties and ensure obtain an ip address automatically on the TCP/IP line is selected. Go into the router settings and make sure enable DHCP is set to allocate ip addresses automatically and that the router transmits on mixed mode b and G, turn off any wep or wpa encryption until you have a connection. Do not use windows connection repair as it will totaly mess up your pc's ip addresses and stop you from connecting to the routers ip address.

Problem connecting to the net

You router may be set to be DHCP enabled so that it allocates the ip addresses automatically to each pc, so check that the pc's network card with connection problems is set in the properties on the TCP/IP line is set to obtain an ip address automatically. You can also try, Start>run then type ipconfig /flushdns to clear the pc ip address and dns. and restart pc. Lastly if you pc is both network cabled and wireless, ensure one or the other is dissabled as this can confuse the ip adress alocation.
