Hp laptop won't power on

Hello. It sounds like either...

1. Your power adapter is damaged/not working. Look and see if a LED is illuminating on the power adapter. If it is chances are it is working fine and the problem may lie on your laptop. If not replace it. The easiest way to tell if your power adapter is bad is to go out to Wal-Mart or your local technology store and purchase one of their universal power adapters. They are expensive but you can buy it, try it, and return it if it does not solve the problem.

OR

2. The DC pin on your laptop is bent/broken/loose. Look at where your power adapter plugs in on your laptop. Get a paper clip, bend it out to make a long paper clip and slightly push its tip on the pin inside your laptop. If the pin moves chances are either the DC pin needs to be soldered down or needs to be replaced. The part is usually cheap around $10 but the labor can cost more than $50

Starting up the note book hp Omnibook xe4100 results in lightning on A 1 f 8 lights just under below the main power switch. Also in front the power indicatar light and the drive light is not functioning ...

Hello.

The most common reasons for power issues are the battery, power jack and power adapter/cord.

Power off and remove the battery. If the laptop powers on with just the adapter connected, your battery is faulty.

If you move/wiggle the power adapter at the point where it connects to the laptop, and the power goes off and on, the power jack is the problem.

The power jack is inside the laptop and either needs soldering or replacement. If a power jack problem, it should be addressed by someone knowledgeable.

If no change, the power adapter is probably faulty and needs replacement.

Hope this helps.

WHERE IS THE POWER FUSE ON A ORION 2500D

If the fuse is not on the outside of the amp, usually near the live input. it will be inside the amps casing. you may have to look around carefully as maybe under parts or hidden. if not on ouside of amp, 100% its inside the amp

Aprilaire manual humcontrol 4655 hum 560 .when control clicks works fine.move dial to outside temp never works changed 4655 twice i have 28\r\nvolts ac all the time

When humidistat is at ouside temperature that may be a lower humidity setting than is in your home. Doesn't sound like there is a problem. If it is too dry in home you can set it above ouside temp to turn on. The ouside temp setting is estimate that you will not get condensation on windows.

The power button on my Acer netbook is loose and makes the laptop turn off by itself, what can i do?

If you can remove the bezel with the power button, you will probably find the power button actuator is broken. Glue the pieces back together with ABS cement or metal filled epoxy such as J. B. Weld, using a toothpick to apply it. Don't use too much, and make sure you fit the pieces tightly together so you don't change the mechanical dimensions to the point that it won't work right. (A solvent weld using methyl ethyl ketone will probably work at least as well as anything else, but that is a very nasty chemical - use proper safety measures)

If the actuator looks OK, find the tiny switch operated by the power button actuator. It is probably a black plastic square about 4 to 8 mm across with a tan or black button in the center, and four metal tabs coming out of two opposite sides going down to the circuit board. Gently test it to make sure it clicks when you press it. If you don't feel anything move inside, the snap dome in the switch is cracked and collapsed, and the switch will have to be replaced. (Note: the battery should be removed and the A/C adapter unplugged while you are working inside - a dropped screw in the wrong place on a live board will ruin your day. Also, do not touch anything on the board besides the switch without taking appropriate precautions to avoid delivering static electricity shocks to the system.)

I have a compac lap top and when i plug in the wall charger nothing happens it wont charge

check to see if you can hear a hum from the charger it self , push the box hard againts ear if its humbing charger is ok, if you cant hear anything from it check fuse to plug. if this is ok then charger is broken.

If charger is ok check the conection into the laptop if it feels loose and when u move it slightly it goes on and off then possible conection to laptop prob.

If this conection is ok and the charger is humbing and working, could be a possible internal switch gone in the laptop that decides to charge and not charge when battery is full. These are always failling on laptops but hopfully its not this.

If you find the charger is broken search ebay for a new or secound hand one, aint to expensive. hope this helps

Hello, I need help with my sony str-de197 receiver. Then I hit power on button, there is a click sound inside the box, but nothing happens, there is nothing on display too. I have checked 2 fuse's, it's...

It sounds like the switch might be OK mechanically but not electrically. Have a look to see if you can check the connections on the switch. Perhaps there is a broken or loose or bad solder joint.

The wireless switch on my HP pavillion dv7-1130us is stuck (in off position). How do I "unstick" it? I've tried almost everything.

1.If the switch slider is stuck from sliding by the laptop's case somehow, you open the laptop, and free it. Then see what transpired making this happen.

2.Upon opening the laptop, and finding that the switch itself is broken, (Mechanism inside the switch has broken), you remove the switch by unsoldering it, and then replace it.

3.You take it to a qualified computer repair shop, and have them do it.
My money is on the switch mechanism has broken inside the switch, and needs replacing.

If you need the Maintenance and Service Guide, in order to open the laptop to service this switch, here it is,
(It states -> Guide <-, but it is really a comprehensive manual, with printed instructions and illustrations. It's free, and comes directly from HP.com)

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=3795407&

On this page scroll down to ->
HP Pavilion dv7 Entertainment PC - Maintenance and Service Guide <-, and click on it. (It's in Blue)
This is a PDF file download. You have Adobe Reader on your computer which uses PDF files.

After you click on the above, you may not see anything happening for up to 30 seconds. Be patient as it is downloading to your computer. You may see the first page after 10 seconds.
I advise waiting until it has Fully downloaded, before looking through it. You may break the download connection if you don't.

Should you wish to save this PDF file to your computer, (So you can view it anytime you want without having to wait for a download, and also so you can burn a copy off to a CD disk), go to the top header, and click on the Floppy Disk icon.

The Floppy Disk icon is the second icon from the left. Hovering your mouse cursor on it will briefly reveal, "Click to save this file to your computer or another location".

If you don't have your downloads set to go to your My Documents folder, (Start>My Documents), this file will go to your desktop screen. Just double-click on it to open it.
