Notebook won't connect wifi

Hi, assuming your laptop is switched on.
Above the keyboard on the right side are the three 'Easy buttons'. The one on the left is for the wireless function.

Push this button to activate or deactivate the Wireless LAN. When you activate the wireless LAN function, it will search for a wireless LAN signal automatically (assuming you have the wireless LAN driver installed). Just below the screen on the right side is the Status LED Panel, which show six icons, each with its own LED. The first one on the left indicates Wireless LAN status. When the LED is displaying a green light, it indicates that the system is accessing data from, or retrieving data by wireless LAN. So whenever you press the Easy button, you should see the green status light come on or go off. To repeat, if the light is not on, you need to press the Wireless LAN 'Easy Button'. NOTE! If you can't get the button to come on, you will need to re-install the Wireless LAN driver.

Need isatap driver for vista

im assuming its a laptop computer

Turn the laptop over and remove the battery.

Remove the screws that are used to secure the memory/wireless LAN minicard cover with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Lift the edge of the cover to remove it.

Disconnect the antenna cables from the wireless LAN minicard with the needle-nosed pliers.

Locate the screws that are used to secure the wireless LAN minicard to the motherboard and remove them with the Phillips-head screwdriver.

Pull the wireless LAN minicard out by grabbing the card by the edges.

Reinsert the wireless LAN minicard and push down on the card to set it in place.

Tighten the screws to secure the card to the motherboard.

Replace the antenna cables with the needle-nosed pliers.

Replace the memory/wireless LAN minicard cover and secure it with the screws.

Replace the battery and then turn on the laptop. Windows Vista will load and reinstall the drivers for the ISATAP adapter.

hope this helps

I have a laptop running 802,11 g/b and vista and I Cant connect to linksys wag160n wireless router(802,11 n). laptop sometimes recognises network but when I try to connect it wont. could you help ?

Hi, You cannot connect across wireless protocols. In other words to connect to 802.11 n you need an "n" adapter.

Now, the router should be backward compatible & provide wireless g/b but you may find that when you search for networks it will be listed as a seperate network name (from the same router)

Try searching for this other network. Your router documentation should advise you of its default name & any set up process

Wireless LAN problem

Make sure that the built-in wireless lan is disabled. If your pc is XP or vista, uninstall the new WIRELESS LAN(go to control panet, add/remove programs), select the Atheros Software. Leave the WIRELESS ADAPTER connected to your pc. Insert the disc, do not run the set up. RESTART THE PC. The drivers for the WIRELESS ADAPTER should install, if not load drivers manually.
MAKE SURE WIRELESS ZERO CONFIGURATION for XP is running. You should be able to detect wireless networks.
