Question about Sharp Televison & Video
There is a problem with the power supply. most likely too much ripple that is ac leaking into the dc. I have seen the power supply repaired but it is not always possible. If there is an obvious swelled capacitor on the power supply that can be replaced this will be the best bet for repair. If there is nothing visually obvious then it gets a little harder since you won't really know which component is not working, the tv shuts down on a protection circuit so if the power supply can be repaired and the voltage "cleaned up" then the tv could work again. I have also seen replacement power supplys sold.
