Question about Kenwood DNX6160 Car Video Player

1 Answer

This has been a weird hookup from the onset. I took out a stock radio cd player in a Dodge Charger RT. I thought I bought all of the accessories but I may have neglected a wire, or something. I can see my bluetooth working through my receiver from my phone, but there is no audio. As soon as I hang up, the music comes back on.

Actually, I have not hooked up the mute wire. Any other suggestions? Thanks GWD

Is there any chance the interface box is incorrect or just not working properly? I am utilizing a PAC C2R-Chy4. Or is there something that might be connected to the care that is causing the problem? GWD

Hi gdossey574,
You must have the mute wire installed on the phone.
Refer to page 45 of your owner's guide to the section entitled "Muting audio volume upon reception of phone call". The note will explain the wire hook up. Unhook this wire.

Hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate a 4 thumbs up. Thanks,

Handie Andie

Used the CD player for the first time today. Took it out when I got home. When I went to put in another CD later, it wouldn't go in. Please help!

Is it a factory radio? If so disconnect your positive battery cable for 30 seconds. It will reset your computer upon hookup. If it is an aftermarket radio then usually it has a detachable face. Behind that you will find a little hole. That is the reset button just for the radio.

My front brakes squeak, I replaced the pads but the squeak is still there. These have squeaked for a long time?

There is an ongoing problem with squeaking front brakes on dodge rams and charger rt.From 2000 up to present Ihave been told dodge used cheap pads and rotors on a lot of there cars and trucks.I own a 2008 charger rt with 40000 miles and changed brake pads and rotors twice and they still squeak.i herd only remedy is to buy upgraded pads and rotors but these are much more expensive then stock parts. For now i am putting up with squeak till i get the extra money to get rid of noise.the brakes wont fail they just squeak.(I know very annoying)for now i just turn up radio a little louder LoL.But until dodge admits there using cheap ???? parts complaining to dealer didnt help.Good luck. PS A friend of mine put on slotted rotors and expensive pads and yes the still squeak. So mabye it has somthing to do with calipers but again dodge wont admit this.

Keyless entry, moon roof and door locks dtopped

Well there are more wires behind the radio which may have been unhooked while pulling out your old radio. If you cut any wires and left bare wire exposed its a possibility it could have touched and blew a fuse.

Led lights do not work on radio/cd player. no station/time displ

Work in car audio for a living. dodge caravan's are notorious for having there cd player's **** out. if the led display is out the built in reducers for the display power supply are more then likely shot. head to a junk yard and pull one out if you want to keep it stock :)
can prob get it from them for about 20 buck's and it will plug right in were the old one did. or you can go after market head unit (125-900$ at any electronic's store) buy a harness (about 18$) and a mounting kit (25$) for the easyist install :)
hope this helped
