NTSC and PAL are two major international standards for broadcast television. Because the systems are different, a camera (or a televison) designed for one system may not work with the other. You'll also see this with video tapes: a recording made for one system will not play back on the other. Much of North America uses NTSC while most of Europe uses PAL.

There's also a third system, SECAM, though it's on the way out.

How to id ntse or pal

The way I usually use to Identify if a game is PAL/NTSC is I look at who rated it.

If the game is rated by ESRB then it is NTSC.
If the game is rated by PEGI or BBFC then it is PAL.

Hope I helped, there are other ways to tell but this is what I use.

Getting my samtron to work on my cctv

Not all DVRs have WORKING VGA output. I used to work for Nuvico, and we had 2 different versions for DVRs. Ones with VGA connection. The other with non-working VGA connection. VGA port itself does not guarantee. Some DVRs also have DIP switch in the back. You can simply toggle between composite or VGA output. Ones with DIP switches often require reboot, and from my experience these do not work well with VGA monitors. Also... Make sure VGA monitor support low resolution. Stand-alone DVRs' native resolution is either 600 or 800 horizontal lines.
It will help alot if I know the model of DVR/CCTV

KX-GA3TV will not hold picture on vertical plane (English stations and reversing PAL cctv camera)How do I adjust from US to PAL?

Extremely sorry about the chat session... We're having some connection problems.. ANyways your device is not Compatible with PAL input. Its NTSC only(US). However there is a work around. You can get the PAL to NTSC converter(costs around 30$) that will enable you to play PAL on your Device.

NTSE mode?

its NTSC not NTSE which stands for National Television Systems Committee. its a standard tv color system used by US, Canada, Japan, and many countries in the western hemisphere. in europe they used PAL (phase alternation by line). Most of the tv's today are multi system, all you have to do is to choose in the menu the auto mode and you can play any system you want.
