Try to check if that is the only program that stops functioning or there are other programs that stop as well. Better yet restart the computer and check if it will run again.. If not, check if you have the Autocad installer program, try to uninstall/reinstall it and check if it will run again...

Just do the following steps and your issue will be resolved.

1) Delete all unwanted data from Drive C.

2) Delete all data that you have copied from Drive C to External HDD

3) Open My computer and go to Tools---> Folder Options---->Click on View Tab----> Check 'Show hidden files and folders' and select OK.

4) Go to C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp and Delete everything that you see inside Temp Folder

5) Go to C:\WINDOWS\ here you will find folders like $hf_mig$, here you will have to Delete all the folders starting and ending with $ sign.

6) Empty Recycle bin and restart the PC and Login

Now, Go to 'Start' and then Run
write "msconfig" inside Run tab and press 'enter'
inside the 'System configuration utility' window click on 'startup' tab then uncheck all the applications except your current antivirus and press apply then 'ok' and then 'exit without restart' option.

Now right click My Computer and go to properties tab.
click 'Advanced' tab then under performance menu click on 'settings'
go to 'Advanced' click on 'change' and increase your virtual memory to 2048 in both spaces.
Now restart windows.

How to avoid losing your work in case a program stops responding

Sometimes, while doing some specific work on your PC or browsing the internet, the program you're using suddenly stops responding without any apparent reason. If you hadn't been saving your work regularly, you'll most likely lose it when Windows prompts you to close the program.

There's however a solution that could help you avoid such frustration. Here are the steps to follow in case a program stops responding :

1. Once you encounter such a problem, don't close the program you're using.

2. Open the Task Manager by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Delete.

3. In the "Processes" tab, find "explorer.exe", choose it and click "End Process" on the bottom right.

4. Click "Yes" (Everything you see in the background will disappear but don't panic, it will come back).

5. Click "File" on the top left.

4. Choose "New Task (Run...)"

5. Write "explorer.exe" in the box.

And everything comes back! You can now resume your work...

Code activation

Before you can use the AutoCAD 2007 software on your computer, you must import your license key into the program.
You received this license key after purchasing your copy of the software.
This key confirms to the software that it wasn't pirated, and allows you to use all the features available to you in the AutoCAD 2007 software for whatever length of time you choose

Open AutoCAD 2007 (if you haven't already) using the icon in your "Start" menu.
Click "Edit" at the top of the "AutoCAD 2007" program window.

Click "Options."
Click "Registration."
From this window, click "Activate Now."
Type your license key into the window on the screen and click "Activate."
This will import your license into the AutoCAD 2007 software.

Are current with Updates and Service Packs?

Have you tried to PURGE and AUDIT the drawing?

If none of those work, try checking in with the AutoCAD Community for additional visibility.

If you get the above error, copy all the files from C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared to C:\Program Files (x86)\AutoCAD LT 2004 For some reason, AutoCAD installs the DLLs in the Autodesk Shared folder, but needs them in the AutoCAD exe folder location. Hope this helps! Ben

Opening dwgs in autocad

In the past the fastest way to fix this is to go directly to the file and try to open it. It is possible that file or database has been corrupted. In some instances the file type dwg is not associated with autocad and the application hangs because it is looking for .dwg as an associated file type to autocad.

Let me know if you need further clarification.
Good luck!

Opening dwgs. in autocad 2004

Try rebooting your computer, then relaunch AutoCAD. If your .dwg file will not open then open the backup file. Sometimes the .dwg file goes crazy and the backup file will save your life, most of the time. Also make sure that your machine has enough memory to run AutoCAD. Memory is either your best friend or your worst enemy when working with AutoCAD. I hope this helps.
