Ifthe recharageable battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be wornout. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cyclesand will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up atall. ORThe battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected thebattery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. Ifthe battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to bereplaced.

My mp3 is not charging is less than a month old it doesn't last one hour on on radio

You have a faulty MP3 player, it should be still under warranty. I suggest you return it to where you purchased the player and get it repaired or replaced under warranty.

My ipod wont hold a charge. It keeps going out

How are you charging it?, if your charging it on the computer it slowly decreases the batery life everytime you charge it ( as in it last for 5 hours to 4 and a half) so i suggest you start using a wall charger in future :)

My Sansa MP3 player will not charge all the way and holds the charge for about 1 hour. What can I do?

Nothing. The rechargeable battery doesn't last forever. That was probably manufactured in 2005. Time to replace it.

Wont Turn ON

(1) Hit the reset button for 5 seconds.
(2) Hit the reset button, slide down the on/off slide, and have it plugged into the computer at the same time. Hold for 5 seconds.
(3) Hit the reset button again.
(4) Charge it for at least 10 hours in the port in the BACK of your computer.
(5) After 10 hours, unplug the player and press the + volume button. While still holding it, plug the player back in. Keep holding it for 5-50 seconds. (most likely nothing will pop up).
(6) Let the player sit UNPLUGGED for a good 3 hours.
(7) Plug the player back in (it should light up now). Let it charge the usual time it takes to charge for an empty battery, about 6 hours.

Unit will not turn on

Your battery is recharged when connected to your computer. Turn the player off and connect it to your computer via the USB cord. The computer must be turned on. Initial charge should be for 10 hours with subsequent charges 3 to 4 hours for a full charge. A quick charge of 1-1/2 hours will give you a 70 percent charge. A fully charged battery will last up to 15 hours under normal use.

In order:
*The battery life specs listed by the manufacturers are based on ideal laboratory conditions, and are almost never right. (You'll also notice that you don't actually have a full 8GB's, and that it doesn't take as long to charge the unit as the manual suggests. And the big one - this player will not fit as many songs on it as the manual suggests.)
*Four hours is not unusual. Sounds about right.
*The battery is not replaceable on this particular unit.
* If you can listen to your songs, they are formatted correctly. Mp3-format songs take up less space than wma's, so you can fit more mp3 on a player than wma's, usually.

The player seems to me to be operating normally.

Samsung YP K3 only lasts for 2 hours

1. totally discharge the battery so it wont come on.

2. Charge the battery fully

3. Reset the player

Now check how long the battery lasts. If it is still 2 hours there is a problem with the battey and you will need to return the player.

Battery will no longer hold charge

Get a new battery.

Just like on my cell phone, if I go a long time with it, it goes dead faster, for example the first day I got it would last at least a couple days, now it lasts maybe 10 hours, or so.

Buy a new battery.

Battery Life Problem

Broke, but you can Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware.
Wizard.
