Could be a couple things. UNPLUG tool and remove one handle half and see if it is jammed up with lambswool from the bonnet. It can get under the brushes causing the erratic power. If thoroughly clean the entire motor housing and then remove and check the brushes for wear. Let me know if you need more assistance.

Unstable RPM and not sure what's the cause of it.

Has to be something in the fuel delivery system. The more fuel you give the engine the faster it turns and vice versa so it has to be something in this area. Could the fuel pump be operating erratically and have erratic pressure - that could be it.

Oil pressure is 32 while idling and goes up when RPM INCREASES

Hi Anonymous, normal oil pressure is 32-38 with engine hot and running at 2,000 RPM. If you are getting erratic readings you could have a bad sending unit or gauge. Good luck

Hello and welcome to FixYa!

If the check engine light is on then there's definitely a problem. The engine rpm is erratic right? This can be caused by a faulty MAF (mass air flow) sensor. If the MAF sensor is faulty the idle will surely be erratic and may cause stalling.

You will need to have it replaced to make the vehicle back to it's normal operation again.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

My 1997 Chrysler Concord idles at 2500 to 3000 rpm when first started and when it warms a little it idles at 2000 rpm and stays there. When I start it right after I turn it off, it starts at 2500 rpm then...

Maybe a short to the TPS or something shorting it out. There's also the IAC that really controls the idle but usually it will cause the RPM's to go up and down a little erratic if bad. The MAF sensor can cause major problems as well but since you already swapped the TPS and it helped and then stopped I would focus on that sensor and especially it's wiring to and from the ECM. Be careful with the sensor signal wire to the ECM can blow it if more than 5v passes or spikes.

Check the idle air bypass valve see if dirty, cleanable unit. you check the working of valve by powering the unit with 12 volts. check map sensor too.

95 honda accord v6 tach erratic and sometimes zero accompanied with minor power flucuations.

Hi ....
On your HOnda accord V6.
The rpm is generated from the Distributor.
The more possible problem for erratic RPM is the cam sensor inside of the Distributor. But I guess you can't buy just the sensor.
And can afect the engine performance.

OK. I hope this information work for you.
I work on cars everyday. Thank you for use fixya.
