Use the HDMI cable on the Roku. The reason you don't have audio from the laptop is because the HDMI out on the laptop has no audio on it. You need to use a 3.5 mm audio cable to connect the laptop audio to the TV.

SOURCE: Digital Audio Output on TV

When using HDMI as the source, the Dolby Digital data will NOT be passed through. If you switch your cable box or satelitte receiver to PCM audio it will pass that through.

SOURCE: Audio with digital channels, no audio with analog channels

I was getting a constant mono setting for all channels with no option to set it to stereo. I called Sharp, and they said that in order to receive stereo sound, you cannot use a standard coaxial cable. You need an S-Video or HDMI cable. This not only resolves the mono audio issue but also resolves the analog (vs. stereo) issue. Hope this helps!!

I have sound but no picture

Check your connections between your Roku box and your TV more than likely you have the audio cables plugged into the wrong jacks, Using a single HDMI cable would eliminate this issue if you have an available HDMI input on your TV. Notice which jacks are the audio output jacks on this pic, make sure these are connected to the input on your TV, the ONLY time you don't use these jacks id if you are using the HDMI connection, they are REQUIRED for composite video, component video (high def color) and S-video.

No video from AV1 channel connected to a Toshiba DVD player via Component to Sharp Aquos TV via HDMI. Audio is fine via Optical cable.

Usually you cannot mix and match sources and outputs. In other words, if you're using component to connect from DVD player to a receiver, you have to also use component to connect from receiver to TV. Input and output MUST be the same - both HDMI or both Component.

How do i get my roku to work on sharp aquos?

The Roku is an external media player designed to function with all TVs. Depending on the model of Roku you have you need to conext the video out whether it be RCA (the yellow red whit cables) or HDMI into the corresponding input on your sharp TV then with your remote or the input button located on the side of the TV you need to change the TVs input to the the same input you plugged your Roku into.

I have a Sharp Aquos. A video cable is connected to interface EXT-4. Video is working fine. Which audio interface can |I use to get audio too and what do I have to set in the TV menu?

There should be RCA type audio input connections near the ext-4 video cable. One red and one white. If you connect these cables you won't have to do anything in the menu.

How do i connect audio from satellite receiver into sharp aquos tv

If you are using an HDMI cable the sound and audio will be in the same connector. If you are not then you must run an audio (stereo both L + R) cable from your satellite receiver to the audio input of your television.

If you are using a S-Video cable it only carries the picture and not sound.
In that case it also requires an audio cable as well as a video cable.

Cant get the wiring figured out.........

TV is HD correct? Use the Y/CB/CR from the Sat to the TV. Use the Digital optical cable for sound from the sat to the receiver. Use the s-video from the dvd player to the tv and the l/r to the receiver for sound. I would suggest upgrading to another set of Y/CB/CR cables to connect your dvd to the TV and benefit from better picture. Also, buy another optical cable for dvd sound (so you can enjoy surround sound). Your receiver has two optical inputs so youre covered there.
