Have KD- XS955 50 inch. When turned on the green light flashes repeatidly untill it goes into standby. Fans do not turn on but the light panel does. The unit is a little dusty but not bad. Wondering how to check lamp. Does the fan in the middle cool down the lamp?

Component problem. A defective component on the power supply circuit causes these symptoms ma'am/sir. You need an electronic servicing technician to do the work.

This problems it the cause by the power supply board.Those transformers on the power supply board is the cause.That the board,where the power a/c cord plug into it.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish power supply board for the replacement.
Picture goes to high green with retrace lines that shows picture tube is defective and requires replacement. Usually in above symptom, TV goes to standby mode and standby light blinks when green raster problem occurred. New TV is better option because picture tube of KV-34XBR960 would not be available any more. Thanks.
Call up the 'Integration Menu" - the fans can be switched between 'auto' and 'full speed'.
To do this switch the display into standby. If the standby light flashes 4 times it is indicating a fault in the Thermal Sensor Assembly which will explain why your fans aren't working. With the display in standby press the menu button and within 3 seconds press the power button. The display will turn on with the integration menu. Select the option tab and scroll down until you see 'fan control' - press 'set' to toggle between 'auto' and 'max'. When you select 'max' the fans will run at full speed within a few seconds. The fans are a bit noisey at full speed so you may want to look into replacing the sensor eventually.
Audio Protect (7 Flash): When DC voltage is detected at the speaker or
woofer outputs, IC3604/pin128 (TV-micro) goes low and IC3604 turns off
the main power (AC relay turns OFF).
Troubleshooting Tips:
1) Main cause of defective will be located on the KD-board
2) Confi rm KD-board is securely seated on the G2-board
3) Replace KD-board
