If your tv and dvd player are good yes might be you have a wrong connection. this is how a proper connection between your tv and dvd player.

  1. first step in connecting a dvd player to a tv unit is determined what kind of connection you want to make, this usually determined to the outputs and inputs available on the dvd player and tv unit.
  2. if you are using a plasma or a lcd tv usually the inputs are: composite inputs- lets you connect a component source like a dvd, vcr, and laser disc. component inputs - lets you connect another component source such as a dvd player. DVI-HDTV - lets you connect an HD receiver with a DVI output.
  3. for example if you select the composite input what you need is a RCA plug which usually a 3 color plug.this picture is an example of commercial rca plug which usually the color yellow use for video and the red and white color for audio.I cant get a picture - vinceisaac.jpg.
  4. this is how you will connect those wire into your dvd player and tv unit.look for the component output jack of your dvd player .this picture is a sample of component output jack the color may vary depending tovinceisaac_0.jpgkind of brand or dvd player do you have.
  5. now get your RCA plug then the yellow plug insert it to the Y or video out the red and white plug insert it to the left and right AUDIO out of your dvd player.
  6. now look for the composite inputs jack of your TV unit then get the other end of RCA plug. the yellow plug must be insert it to the V label for video the red and white plug into L/R label which mean for audio input.
  7. after you connect the 3 wires re check all the connections make sure the RCA plug is good and properly inserted to avoid loose contact which can affect the picture and sound quality.
  8. now turn on your dvd player and tv unit.
  9. make sure your tv unit is set to right input you want to use like for example you are using the video 1 input, you need to set to the remote controller into video 1 so that your dvd player must be recognized by your tv. enjoy watching i hope it will help you thanks for choosing fixya as your solution to fix you problem good luck.

Ensure that all of your connections are insert all the way into the ports. Make sure that you have the correct input chosen on your screen and that the DVD player is plugged into all the same input and not split between multiple input options.

When i plug my camcorder in to my tv, there is no picture just a loud humming

Unplug it! Sounds like you have plugged the video(yellow) into the sound input. Make sure that all the colours match the input colours. Yellow=Video White =Left channel Red=Right channel. Also make sure that the little silver 3.5mm jack is fully inserted into the camera. :)

Sound recording problem

Make sure the right sound drivers are installed, make sure your using a working microphone.

Also make sure your using the right program and that the microphone itself is plugged into the jack that is labeled with the picture of the microphone.

If you have done all of this and still can't get the mic to work then its a motherboard problem.

The green, blue, red hd plugs are for video only. you'll never get sound to produce out of a video line. audio comes from left and right which usually is white and red. it's always marked above or below the jack input.

Goodmans Tv wont show dvds

Usually with DVD players, picture & no sound, or sound & no picture is caused by the scart lead not being plugged in properly.

Sound pins are at one end of the connector and audio pins at the other.

If you are using scart make sure that the plugs at both ends are pushed in all the way. The plastic part of the plug should just touch the socket.

If you are using S-Video (Round connector with 4 pins) you also need to connect a twin phono-phono (Red & Black or White) lead to carry the audio, as S-Video only carries video.

Check the AV plugs those are the red white and yellow plugs make sure that the yellow is plugged into the yellow circle on your tv and red to red and white to white, unless your on hdtv. if there plugged in make sure it is on the right channel probably 3 or 4 if those dont work change it to video mode or input mode.
