Question about Samsung Electronics - Others

Open Question

Can you advise how to make the Samsung BD-C8900 region free. I have tried the fixes on your site but am unable to make them work. We are located in Australia with Region 4 standard. Your site offers two solutions, one for R1 & R2 only and the second more generally. My machine does not offer a 'no-disc' message in the top left corner, nor does it appear to have a 'REPEAT' button (I have tried various ones but am not sure what I should use here). Can you help?

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: is the panasonic dmr bw500 a multi region player,

I can't let a fellow Aussie pass so some good news and some bad. The BluRay player is region b but the dvd part of the unit is multi region. So YES it will work as long as it's not BlueRay. Whether or not a fix will be available at a later date to change the BlueRay to multi region is something you may have to wait for. It sure would make a top unit even better. I certainly wouldn't refuse one.
I hope the news is good mate

SOURCE: How to unlock samsung BD-C8900

Hi.

Try first this. It works on most BD C8900:

"

This only works on R2 player for R1 disc with the logo: "This disc is intended to play only on R1 dvd players".
1.press menu
2.move de cursor to video.
3.press play
4.press stop(when you see the conter at zeros, press play. "( from Videohelp)

If that does not work, try the following. It works on several BD Samsung players:

"I used the R4 code from below.

1) Turn on the player with no disc in the tray
Wait till the unit is at the Samsung logo screen.
2) Open then close the tray, wait to see the No-Disc Message in the top Left Corner
3) Now press the REPEAT button on the remote, followed by a five digit code.
In this case Repeat 76884

Now it to me about 20 tries to get this to work, It needed to be done without delay.
So if you don't get it to work straight away don't loose heart.

4) When it works a 4 will appear in the top left corner

5) Press 9 to make it regionless.
6) Press Eject to OPEN to open the disc tray.
7) Press Eject to CLOSE to close the disc tray.

8) Power the unit off

9) Now power the unit on again, it should now read all regions of DVD Disc.

From other threads I got the follow list of region codes.

R1 - 29334
R2 - 57538
R3 - 56732
R4 - 76884
R5 - 53814
R6 - 24462 "

Region free samsung bd f5700

Try the official Samsung support site. There are software upgrades available, as well as manuals, etc.:

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/BD-F5700/ZA

Howver, the F5700 is "officially" only a Region 1 player. If you bought it from an odd seller that advertised it otherwise, they either lied to you or have attempted to hack the player themselves (possibly illegally).

SOME manufacturers allow a ONE-time region change (legally).

Other suggestions from FixYa users on changing Region:
http://www.fixya.com/support/t21913028-region_free_samsung_bd_f5700

or general suggestions on changing the region on players:
http://www.ehow.com/how_5091093_change-region-dvd-player.html

I do not condone any of the above methods, whether they are legal or not. Most Blu-Ray discs are already region-free, and I don't hack my electronics.

Changing to multi region dvd

There are a couple sites I found that offer the codes for that player and the BD-P1000. I am not sure if I am allowed to post the links for those sites but the link to the site zimcloud posted is one of the places I saw it listed. You can google the model and region code and a list of sites come up.

Cheers
