Question about Delphi Roady XT XM Radio Receiver

1 Answer

I have enjoyed my radio for about 2 years. For about two weeks I get the message"loading" on my radio. It does not happen all the time, but it seems like it is happening more frequently. It will happen infrequenly, but sometimes for a longer period. I would appreciate any suggestions to remedy this problem. I have a ROADY XT MODEL SA10276. Thank you very much! Terry

Just a few weeks ago Sirius XM changed there channels. That might have been one problem. But it shouldn't be loading all the time. It might be losing the channels and have to reload the channels.

CP185 has intermittent static, when pressing button to talk screen displays "channel busy" and battery will not keep a charge.

Could be one of several issues. A few which come to mind are:

1) You have a bad or poorly charged battery. Static is a sign of a bad or poorly charged battery. Try swapping a battery from another radio, with a known good battery and see if the problem is solve. If this resolves the issue check your battery and charger. Tip: Clean all charge contacts with a pencil eraser to ensure good charging. Also, check your 3- or 4-digit date code on the battery. If more than 2 years old, replace the battery. (4-digit date code example 1303 would be 2013 the 3rd week; on 3-digit date codes the first number is the year and the next two the week of the year.)

2) You are trying to use the radio in an area where you are experiences high RF on your frequency. This is the "busy"... someone/something is on or near your radio's frequency and interfering with transmission. Try your radio at a different location and see if the problem persists.

3) Another radio in the workgroup is stuck in transmit, causing static, and the channel busy. Turn off other radios, one at a time, and see if the problem still exists.

4) Or if you have an audio device plugged into the radio, try unplugging it and see if the problem stops. FYI: All audio devices must be plugged or unplugged with the radio shut off. If you plug one in with the radio turned on, you can experience some unexpected intermittent issues.

If none of these seem to be the problem, your radio is likely in need of repair.

Best regards.

To SET anythything including the ALARM do the following for each. This example is for the ALARM.<br><br>1. Press "Select' once until time starts blinking. <br>2. When you get to the Alarm time and it it blinking, Hold down "Select" for 2 seconds to put it into "Set" Mode. You know you are in the right place if only one of the numbers in the alarm time is blinking. From there use the "up" and "down" to select your time and tone! WHAT DOES "CHECK OP" MEAN? IT IS ON THE FACE OF MY

Good morning, afternoon, evening or night; whatever time of day you are viewing this. Thank you for choosing FixYa to assist you with this question. You're receiving a message on your radio screen that says "Check Operation" and want to know how to clear it out. Whenever you see that "Check Operation" message on your radio, that means your radio has not received any activity (warnings or messages) for a number of days or weeks. This is something the radio does automatically. The message will clear off your screen when an alert has been announced or a Required Weekly Test (RWT) or Required Monthly Test (RMT) has been performed. I have a Midland WR-100 Weather Radio and it does the same thing. I get a Required Monthly Test on the last Wednesday of each month. After the test is completed, the message goes away. The National Weather Service conducts these test on Wednesdays starting at 10 a.m. Check your radio on Wednesday to see if you still see this message. The message should be gone around 6:00 PM or later. I hope this answers your question and thank you for choosing FixYa to answer your question. We hope you get the best user experience out this radio. Stay safe this Severe Weather Season, keep updated with your NOAA Weather Radio and have a good day, evening or night; whatever time of day you are reading this. Keeps flashing check reception

That's because you haven't received a Required Weekly Test (RWT) for the present or past week. I just had a problem like this not to long ago. You should try unplugging the radio and taking out the batteries. Put the batteries back into the radio and plug it back in. Check to make sure your settings are still intact (you'll have to reset your time.). I'll have to check the radio this week to make sure that RWT comes in. The National Weather Service (NWS) does its Weekly Required Testing on Wednesdays between 10 a.m. & 12 p.m., I haven't had a "check reception" message scroll across the screen since everything was reset; and to enhance your confidence doing this, I actually saw a person who works on these radios, do this to my radio. As far as the weather radio going off, it really does go off when severe weather strikes, because mine just went off (my area is receiving a flash flood warning). The weather you have been receiving probably isn't "severe" enough for the NWS to sound the alarm. For more information on when and what type of event sounds the alarm, and the procedures proceeded when the alarm goes off; go to these websites:
http://www.nws.noaa.gov/nwr/nwrtest.htm

http://www.nws.noaa.gov/nwr/nwrwarn.htm#B

http://www.crh.noaa.gov/lsx/?n=nwrfaq.

Hope this helps!
