Question about Intermatic 200W Power Pack & 12v Transformer ML200RTW

1 Answer

My ML200RTW isn't generating 12VDC anymore. It receives the 120VAC signal and the timer works (it hums and keeps the time). I can manually activate the timer switch, but no matter what position I put it in, the output stays at 0VDC. The unit worked fine for 3 years and it's never been moved. I recently discovered an ant's nest inside when I opened it to check why it wasn't working. Any ideas?

Bad news.
There are no repair parts for broken power pack.
Terminals A and B should test for 12 volts, as you have determined.
Terminals C is for photo eye operation only.
If transformer hums, that is signal that it is working.
It might be possible to open case and somehow find the copper wire from the transformer that will produce 12 volts again, but nobody has reported being able to fix power pack.
Please add a comment and say if you are able to do this successfully.
ML series power packs have 5 year limited warranty, and you usually need the receipt.

The converter on my motorhome does not convert 120vac to 12vdc anymore what could be the problem

Make sure that the the down transformer is good. That being the case then the items to check are the rectifiers- usually diodes that convert current from ac to dc. They all have to be working.

I have an intermatic T40404R5 which is what I believe to be a double T104 220V, 125 amps. This timer controls our pool. A couple years ago we had our pool converted to salt water and they hooked the...

Pump humming means start capacitor is bad on motor, and motor is overheating and will soon burn out unless serviced immediately. First symptom is humming, and next is tripped breaker. Overheating will melt this pump.
Timer issue probably separate, such as clock motor burned out, or overheating melted terminals inside timer.
T40404R5 is fully repairable: Plastic insulator cover is 124T1952 or 124T2411A. Yes I would cover terminals so there is no possibility of high voltage arc to metal box.

Monitor will not boot up is reading no input signal

So either the computer isn't generating a video signal, the cable isn't carrying the signal to the monitor, or else the monitor isn't capable of receiving a video signal. To test this, first try a video cable that you know is good, in case your cable is bad, If it works with the other cable, the problem was your original video cable. If it still doesn't work, put your original cable back, and hook another computer up to the monitor. If the monitor makes the same message, the problem is with the monitor. If the other computer works when connected to this monitor, your problem was that the original computer isn't booting (which could be due to several reasons I will list below), or the video adapter is broken.Possible reasons for the computer not booting: bad power supply, bad power button, bad hard drive, bad memory, bad motherboard component. If you determine that it isn't booting, unplug everything except the keyboard mouse monitor and power cord, to see if that makes a difference. If it boots after that, something you unplugged was causing the problem, plug them each back in one by one, rebooting in between, and when it stops booting properly, the last thing you plugged in is causing the problem.

Manually it works the timer not working

There are no replacement timer modules for power packs.
If override works: buy cheap plug-in timer, set power pack to override and then plug power pack into cheap timer.

Timer turns lights on for 2 seconds then shuts off ?????

Timer is malfunctioning, or trippers are worn down and don't fully push the switch over.
See it timer operates on manual override.
Buy new trippers, and/or buy cheap plug-in timer, and then set power pack to override, and plug power pack into cheap timer.

Power Pack uses 107SB189 ON tripper, and 107SB192 OFF tripper

Humming sound

Humming from the timer is not normal. If the timer is still keeping the time accurately it should not be a problem. If the time is innacurate the motor may be failing. Unfortunely this timer is out of production and a replacement motor may be hard to get.

M3017-00 is the motor rated for 120VAC service or M3191-71 is the motor rated for 208/277VAC service.

Maytag Neptune FAV6800AWW Top Loader will not turn on. Power outlet is operable HELP

Hi Sandra,

I assume you have no LED’s lit when you raise and lower the washer lid or press a Wash Cycle or Spin Only cycle. This may not be an easy fix but this how I would proceed to troubleshoot.

From the machine schematic I see no fuses or circuit breakers in the machine that could cause loss of 120VAC distribution to the washer Control Board or other relay inputs. This is what I can tell from washer schematic. 120VAC comes into the machine passes thru and EMI filter is then distributed to the Control Board for +12VDC and +3.3VDC generation and 120VAC distribution to the main system relay, motor control board, drain pump, door locks/unlock solenoid and so on. I would start looking with my DVM to see if I had 120VAC at connector P6-1 the L1 (120VAC) input to the control board referenced to P6-3 or 4 the 120VAC neutral connection. If you have 120VAC at those points I would look to see if I had +12VDC power generated by the control board +12VDC power supply.

+12VDC could be measured at the Control Board Conn P3 Pin 3 or 4 referenced to Control Board common Conn P3 Pin 1. If there was no +12VDC generated by the Control Board I would replace the control Board and see if that restores normal operation. What I’m describing is the troubleshooting path I would take as an electronics technician. If you call in a repair service run my suggestion by them and see what they would suggest. I would make sure they bring out a Control Board for your machine. The Control Board has a 5 yr warranty. They will need your model number which you have and the serial number of your machine. The s/n is located on the back right side of the console. I will attach a couple links for reference. The Service Manual link has Maytag warranty contact info.

Let’s also see if another forum member can offer a solution to this issue that I may be overlooking.

The Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference.

Good luck and let us know if you have additional questions.
