The blockage is not in the hose, it's inside the hose connection drain tube. To clear this clog, you will need an 18" long plastic Zip Tie, sized to fit into the drain hole. You can use something similar, but NO wire coat hangers. Carefully thread the Zip Tie into the hole and continue to firmly, yet gently work it in, until it reaches a bend in the tubing. You will need to gingerly work it past this bend, until it either bottoms out or you run out of Zip Tie. Then slowly pull it back out while rotating it. This will help remove the clog. Once you have pulled it almost all the way out, be prepared for some water to follow.

That should solve the problem for you. Please let me know. Thanks.

Your solution would have been correct. I figured it out myself. The 12" clear plastic hose was clear BUT where it connected at the top, under the coils, is where the clog was. I had to take some of the aluminum frame apart to get my hand to the top of the plastic hose. I then undid it from the collection plan and used a small metal dart to bust up the black clog of buildup that was stopping the water flow. I then flushed the area with a cup of water to clear addition buildup in the collection pan. Satisified that it was cleared I then replaced the 12" clear plastic hose and screwed the aluminum frame together. Then put rest of humidifier together. Works fine - thanks for the input.

Try explaining what you need to an appliance parts supplier or find a current model DeLonghi dehumidifier and identify to a salesperson what you need.

My dehumidier blows very hot air while working. Makes it hotter than it was before starting. Like a furnace.

It is normal for a dehumidifier to discharge warm air. A dehumidifier is really an air conditioner - a fan blows humid room air across a cold fin coil that causes the moisture to condense on it and drip into a container - thus cooling AND dehumidifying the air. The cool air is blown over the warm coil and discharged out the back. A dehumidifier WILL normally increase the temperature of the room it is in.
You can do the same thing with sitting an A/C unit on a stool in a room. Room air will be drawn in, cold air will come out the front, hot air out the back and water will drip on the floor. And, the room will get hotter, due to what is called "heat of compression" even though you're running an A/C unit.

Model AD50USS1 Dehumidifier, discharge hose is hooked up, but machine still empties water into the bucket, how do i get it to discharge through hose?

The problem is that either the discharge hose is clogged, to long. 48" is the standard length. In addition, the hose connector on the unit and it's interior tubing may be clogged.

The hose is easy to check for a clog. Simply remove it and either look thru it or blow thru it. If the hose is clear, the clog is in the hose connection and/or the inner drain tubing. To unclog it, do the following.

Turn the unit OFF & unplug it.

Using an appropriately sized, 18" long, plastic Zip Tie, carefully insert the tip of Zip Tie into the hose connection & tubing. Continue to push it in until you reach a bend in the tubing. You will need to gingerly work the Zip Tie past this bend, until it either bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Then slowly pull the Zip Tie back out while rotating (twisting) it. This will breakup any clogs. As you reach the inserted end of the Zip Tie, be prepared, as some water may follow.Reconnect the hose, plug the unit in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. Set the humidity extraction level to 35% or Maximum if you have a manually controlled unit. Allow the unit to run, while you monitor the hose end, for water flow. It may take 10 minutes or more for the water to start flowing.

NOTE: If you don't have a Zip Tie, you may use something similar ( i.e.a long pipe cleaner), but NO wire coat hangers
.

Hope this helps you unclog the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

I have hooked up a garden hose and the unit still fills the unit's container. What am I doing wrong?

You have to plug the hole for the bin if you want to use a hose to drain unit.

The water/mositure won't discharge through the hose into the drain; instead, it collects in the bucket.

Hi! Either the hose is clogged or the hose connection on the unit or the interior tubing to the hose connection is clogged. OR the hose is over 5 feet long. OR the hose is not sloped downward from the unit. The unit depends on gravity to drain thru a hose.

To clear a clog in the hose connection and/or the interior tubing:

Use an 18" long plastic Zip Tie or something similar that is appropriately sized to fit the inside of hose connect and tubing (NO wire coat hangers though). Carefully insert the Zip Tie into the hole and continue to push it in, until you reach a bend in the tubing. You must, gingerly work it past the bend, until the Zip Tie bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Slowly pull it back out while rotating (twisting it). This will help dislodge any clogs. When you start to reach the inserted end of the Zip Tie, be prepared for some water to follow.

Hope this helped you to solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

Bucket fills up instead of water flowing out hose

There must be a blockage in the hose causing the water to back up and flow into the bucket. Try pushing a flexble peice of wire through the hose to unblock it.

Connection for continuous discharge

There unit should have come with a small plastic tube. One end should have a thread connecion for hose hook-up. There should be an opening on the back of the unit that you push the tube through to connect with a little elbow tube inside the unit. You should be able to see the elbow connector from the front of the unit by removing the water bucket. Just push the plastic tube in from the back until it fits snuggly over or into the elbow tube and replace the water bucket. Run the connected hose to your sump pump.
