Why do printhead give problems especially black

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent inkdrying out in the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages,then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer thanreplace the print head.

Printer will not print text. will only print picutres and graphics and text on graphics. just replaced the black and white cartridge.


It sounds like you are either out of black ink or you have a clogged black printhead. Perform a nozzle check/test page, then do 3-4 printhead cleanings. Run another nozzle check/test page and compare it to the first one. If you see improvement, keep cleaning your printheads until the black printhead is unclogged. If you do not see any improvement, you may need to replace the black ink cartridge. (I am assuming that your printer uses a tri-color and black ink cartridge) Replacing the ink cartridge will give you a new printhead (attached to the ink cartridge).

HP designjet 1055cm plus: Installed new toner, printheads and printhead cleaner packs and the black one is failing? Said, alignment so reinstalled. Still failing. Help!

Try to reconfigure your printer setting and then run diagnostic on your printer to know the status of your printer if it still supports the new toner , printer heads you install.

Will not print, red light blinks under the paper symbol


Hello,

It means it has "paper jam"error message. This is a common issue w/ the ESP printers of Kodak especially if its brand new.


Try the steps below.


1.Open the printer access door.
2.Remove the black and color ink cartridges.
3.Reseat the printhead.

a. Lift the printhead release latch
b. Reseat the printhead, pushing firmly on the white label on the printhead (if provided) or the center of the printhead, until it clicks into place.

4. Close the access door.
5. wait for the printer to initialize.

If issue persists, the printer itself needs to be replaced. Call 1.800.421.6699

I thought I was out of black ink, so I replaced the #45 black ink cartridge in my DeskJet 932C printer and it still won't print in black ink.


check the printhead especially the black partition and see if the nostril on the printhead are not damage. does the ink lid blinking if yes clean or replaced the cartridge

I have a hp8250 and about every 6th line is faded


you need to change the printheads but first take a cotton swab dip it in water and then clean the printheads copper contacts and the place the printheads sit inside the printer .place the printheads back inside and now try to print if u still face the issue replace the printheads and then check whether it still gives a problem if it does call in to hp and they will replace the printer.

Printing yellow for black


Hi Jan,

Can you confirm that you are using a CIS or non-HP cartridges with this printer?

It sounds a lot like the printhead has reached a clogging point where sediment has built up in the black portion and loosens enough to printer a few lines before it re-asserts itself again.

Based on my experience of this printer, if you're using a non-HP delivery system for ink then you should consider replacing the black ink with a dyebase alternative instead of pigment.. Replacing the Black/Yellow printhead and running a number of test prints to purge the pigment ink in the printhead should then result in a clean and more reliable printout in future.

One other vector for problems is the cleaning area and I've found that this can become soiled with excess ink causing cross contamination within the inks of one printhead. As yet I've not found a reliable solution to counter this sort of issue.

Hope this gives some clues and hopefully some ideas of a fix.

The following printhead(s) has a problem Black/Yellow[K/Y].


Simple solution is:

Replace the Black and Yellow Print Catridges. The print heads are mounted to the bottom of the catridges and these, depending on whther they're from HP or not. can have a hard time conducting electricity properly, and in turn.. spitting ink out properly.


Also happens often with aftermarket Catridges because HP puts chips on the catridge. be sure to put an HP catridge. Sometimes you get what you pay for :)

Brother 1820 c error code 41


41 error for Brother generally means a printhead.  If I remember right, there should be two black springs on either side of the printhead (the thing that holds all the ink cartridges).  Take the cartridges out, unhook the springs, and pull the printhead out.

Clean it as well as you can with a damp cloth...especially where the ink squirts on to the paper.

If you put it back together and still get an error, you'll need a new printhead.  Let me know if you need the part number.

Black will not print


I am not sure if this will help but I will try. I have 4 types of Canon printers and 7 canon printers. I have had problems w/some of my colors not coming out. There are 2 ways that I've done. First is the simpler one. Just go to the printer maintenance and choose nozzle cleaning for the BCI3 or the Colors CMYK or for all. If after that you do a print check, not the printhead alignment, and the black still doesn't come out then the 2nd way is to pump it out of the printhead. The print check should give you an indication which of the black is not coming out. I checked over the net and see the IP4000 has 2 black cartridges BCI3 and BCI6. So we need to identify which of the black is not coming out. Based on the print check you can identify which of the black is clogged. I suggest you remove the printhead from the printer. The lever that holds the printhead should be just above or in front of the cartridges. I'm guessing that you may have used refilled cartridges before. Which might have caused the clog. But then even original inks under extensive use also has that problem. Not as fast though. You can choose to identity which of the 2 black colors are clogged or you can choose to just unclog the 2 black colors in the printhead. You can do this by getting a syringe and a plastic or rubber tube that has about 5mm for the inner diameter hole. Cover the round nozzle from the inside of the printhead and slowly pump out the nozzle. You should have tissue or newspaper under the printhead and make sure it less than an inch above the tissue or paper. That way you don't get splattered when the ink comes out. When the old ink has cleared out, put the cartridge back in w/ the printhead. Turn the printer off and on a 2-3 times so the printer can prime the tubes in the printhead. Do either 2 light or 1 deep cleaning. Then do a printcheck to see if the black will print.

I think you problem is only a clogged printhead. So you can do the light nozzle cleaning,or deep nozzle cleaning or you can flush out the printhead manually. This should open it up and I think it will be ok. If not, let me know. That's going to be a challeng for me.
