SOURCE: How to change sand in Hayward S-200 Sand filter

hayward S-180 filter takes 150lbs, S-210 takes 200lbs not familur with the S-200. To change sand you have to remove the vari flow valve on top. You can either unplumb the filter and roll it over on its side and try washing the sand out or try scooping it out upright. Whatever you do dont damage the laterals on the bottom of the filter. When refilling with sand you want to make sure all the laterals are undamaged and in the down position. I always fill the filter half full of water to keep the sand from damaging the laterals while re-filling the filter with sand. Make sure you use pool filter sand and not play sand!

SOURCE: cloudy brown dirt getting in my pool from sand pump

The dirt you are getting is most likely from the air, dirt and dust present in rainwater and the small amounts present on human bodies. It is settling out and going to the bottom. I recomend a vacuum attachment that connects to your pump/filter to keep this cleaned out. Basically it "plugs In" to the outlet on the pool and will get all that out for you.

Sand is getting into the pool.after trying sand removal cleaning the "fingers" and making shore they were all connected what else could it be?

If you are getting sand back into the pool from what you have described and there are no holes in the lateral fittings then the gasket on your multiport valve is worn out and needs to be changed.

C/l pump 1hp. hook up is a 220 orage cover wire ment for 220 wired &coverted to 110 at breaker pannel with out door receptial gounded on end. pump pluged into it put plug breaker at plug in keeps...

A motor set up for 230VAC will run on 115VAC but will overheat and shut down over time. The motor nameplate should tell you what wires need to be reconnected and how in order to operate the motor on a 115VAC circuit. Once you change the wires your motor should go back to normal operation.

SAND IN ABOVE GROUND POOL

First, the vacuum should easily pick up sand if the pump is working properly. The sand in pool may be coming through a cracked or broken lateral. If you changed the sand recently and did not prefill the tank with water, then this could be the reason. Plastic parts do fail eventually. Be sure that you perform the rinse cycle aftewr backwashing to settle the sand bed. Instructions on filter tank.

Sand coming out of my sand filter into the pool after changing the sand in the filter

Replace the lateral assembly. Be sure to fill the tank just under half way with water before adding the sand back in. Otherwise you risk cracking the laterals.

Replaced sand now filter isnt working

if u used play sand, or any other type of sand thats NOT pool filter sand, that could be the problem. also if there is too much sand or too little sand that could also cause this.
