Question about Singer Sewing Machines
There are three things that most often contribute to not stitching properly: top tension, bottom tension and the needle.
If the top tension is too loose it can not draw the bobbin thread up. If the bobbin tension is too tight it can't come up either but in that case it usually breaks the thread. If the needle is in wrong or is the wrong size or type it also won't make the stitch.
Even when you think all those things are correct the best thing to do is unthread the machine and rethread it again checking the tension when you do. Then pull out the bobbin and check that it is pulling out with enough tension but not too much. Make sure the bobbin is inserted correctly. You should hear/feel a slight click when it's in proper place.
Try swapping the needle.
If you've done all these things and it's not sewing at all then there's the possibility that the machine itself has a problem but most often it is from one of those three things.
